Morning all........................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

It was bright when we got up, but it is clouding over, quite cool as well, autumn is definately on its way. We had the fire going all day yesterday after we got back from the Market.

I am off hot foot to Lidl in a mo to have a butchers at their sock wool. Its not a holiday up here although the post office is closed and I do not think there is a post delivery.

OH is going to ring the insulation people in a mo and see what they have to say about their no show on Friday.....they will have to have a really good excuse believe me.

No cleaning, might just throw the duster at our bedroom, but the guest room is full of boxes from the attic......I did clean the bathroom after my shower on Saturday, need to do the floor in there and also in the kitchen. The sitting room is fine after Friday.

LL appears to have got over his bad back, he was walking about normally yesterday. We need to see what he wants to do with the fender from the old fire. I also want to see if he has a saw horse, I have some branches to cut up and stack for the fire.

No washing, not a load of anything in the laundry basket so it will wait until later in the week. OH has put a vest back on this morning....he said he woke up cold in the night, think I need to put the heavier duvet on shortly, we can manage with the patchwork quilt pulled up for a few weeks.

I always hang my washing out on the line, if its not fit to do that it goes on the clothes airer and I put it in the sitting room overnight, by the morning it dry.

    Morning All,

It's gorgeous up here, my back door is open, the garden is flooded with light and the birds are singing merrily, it's a lovely start to the day. :)

Washing is on and will go out on the line later, dinner is in the SC - butternut squash, lentil and sweet potato soup - I put some curry paste in it to stop it being too sweet, so we'll see how it works out. I have lots of paperwork to sort through today. The post is being delivered today, CSARINA, I passed the postie on my way in, and I have some parcels to post, but they'll need to wait til tomorrow.

Off to the vet this morning with Coco. I think she has mange  after Googling like crazy last night. She has come out in lots and lots of wee spots over the last few days, it's like watching the kids develop chicken pox - you know the way the spots seem to appear before your eyes? - but she seems unbothered by them, thank goodness. Only one on her front paw looked a bit sore and different, but she is not mad keen on you touching her paws anyway. Apparently from what I could find, it's something Staffies can be genetically predisposed to and is not contagious to people or other animals. Poor girl, I hope that's "all" it is, I couldn't bear to see her ill. Wish us luck.

Hugs to all of you in need or in pain. Welcome to the recent newbies, and hello to the lurkers. Gers, you know who you are ;):D

I always line dry or use the airer indoors. Mind you I don't have TD so don't have any choice :rotfl:

    Good morning my lovelies :D

Had wee bit of a lie in this morning (only an hour but has made a big difference). Last few days have felt extremely tired and un-motivated but feeling perky today although a headache is threatening.
Blue sky and not a cloud to be seen. Bit fresh though, autumn is most definately here :T
DS starts reception on Friday - he's got half a day and then from next week he's full time. Secretly want to bawl my eyes out at my wee baby growing up. It's bad enough that DD is growing up too fast - got to send off my nursery placement form for this time NEXT year for her :eek::eek:
Anyway going to cut the lawn in a mo - sod the dew I need to get it done. Having a lazy-ish day although there are jobs in the house that need doing but TBH I just can't be bothered to go anywhere. Did enough dashing about on holiday :o

Need to make some biccies today, made a sponge cake yesterday so that should keep the kids happy for this week. Need to start thinking about packed lunches for DS........hmmmm he has a limited repatoire (sp?) when it comes to lunch........will have nose on here for some ideas.

    OK I've waffled enough :o
Enjoy your bank holiday and hugs to those that need them.

JackieG - oh poor Coco - hope she's better soon xx

    Morning,

Jelly - So sorry to here about your friend hugs xx
Sistercas - re washing it goes line drying first, if raining then the airer, if not dried overnight then TD ;), The battersby's nextdoor are like that you can always here their TD going 10 to the dozen during the day how bizarre

Today Full english cooked and eaten :p, Tea probably nothing :o.

DD1's mobile got put on a 60wash so after being in the airing cupboard 3weeks, it only works when its charging, she has seen another for 30 quid although really good price for touch screen etc, still gotta find it :o.

    Have great days xx

It's beautiful here and so warm today :D

I had a fantastic sleep, felt like I'd had a really long lie in but I woke at 8am!

WM and DW have been on and the washing will be fighting me for space on the balcony later :rotfl:

The hamster I am looking after for my cousin arrived last night, she is called Star and is quite cute. She wasn't too noisy either last night.

I have no plans for the day. I'm going to have a shower, then pop myself on the balcony and read until the sun disappears to the other side of the building (about 1pm) then find something to do. There is a local carnival on today so may go to that, or may go blackberrying, or may just go sit on the beach and read whilst catching a tan :D.

I've lost 3lbs this week :) It's my 3rd week on slimming world and have lost 10.5lbs so far!

No cooking needed here today as I have leftover stuffed peppers to have for lunch, and leftover pasta sauce to have for tea.

Have a fabulous bank holiday all (sorry JC and all those who don't have today off!)

Beautiful day here :j, got a towel wash on, which will be hung out, Sistercas I dont have a TD either, never have had, so its line dry or airer for me, the only time I struggle is this time of year, when the heating is not on, but its often raining.

Not sure what we are up to today, a few jobs to do here, then we will see, OH wants me to cut his hair, will have to have another cuppa first or he might end up like this :D

Dinner tonight will be sausages, in a giant yorkshire, I have decided I don't like toad in the hold, but like sausages in a yorkshire iykwim :o, will do some nice grave, and veg.

OH is goint to cut the grass in a while, dd is still in bed, but is off to meet some mates in town later on.

    Big hugs to Jelly.

    Have good days all xx

I tumble dry :o I don't really have the space for a line or the energy to fight the dog for the clothes (she likes to steal our clothes and take them to her box...she'd have a field day with a line full!) And with us being a family of 7 its just not practical to have our clothes drying all over what is a small house to start with!

Them's my excuses and I'm sticking with them. Also I find if I take the clothes out of the tumble drier and fold them straight away I don't need to iron much :D

  • On the drying side of things, I have a TD but have never used it cos I can't find the instruction manual. It's a washer-drier. I dry on my airer on my balcony as much as possible and in winter on the airer near the heaters. I don't have radiators, just storage heaters so it can be a struggle at this time of year when I don't want the heating on. I may use TD this winter though if stuff isn't drying as I hate having it all indoors. Thank god I have a balcony!

Had a lie in and then cheese on toast for brekkie. Went back upstairs with a pot of tea and the laptop.

Boxes are all over the house and every time I go to the kitchen cupboard for an ingredient I find DH has packed it in another box. If I stood still he'd probably pack me!!!!!! He would need one heck of a big box though!;)

House buy is supposed to be final on the 3rd but vendor has let us down so many times at the last minute one way or another I am not hopeful. DH has arranged to get various boxes moved in on Friday and a removal company for bed, wardrobes etc on Saturday morning.

We were meant to visit the house last Saturday morning for a quick measure up to see where furniture would fit etc. but got a phone call from EA late Friday afternoon to cancel as vendor would find it "too stressful!" not only the morning arranged at their convenience and with a weeks notice - but at all!

Trying to use up food from freezer so might make spag bol with quorn mince or else a huge lasagne for tonight with salad. Lunch can be tortilla wrap filled with salad or a mix of onions, bacon, cheese and tomato microwaved till cheese bubbles. Youngest DD not amused that most of the cupboard stuff has been packed etc.

Our local sainsbury has original source shower gels bogof so might buy some and smuggle them in while they are on offer. We go through so much shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste etc that I grab anything on offer whenever it appears.

    sistercas

I always line dry and in the house we borrowed there is a pulley or Sheila Maid in the kitchen which is so useful I'm going to try to fit one in our new house if it is possible.

    Hugs to all

jelly - so sorry for your friend what a sad time.
Regarding drying the washing - i do have a tumble dryer but very rarely use it. I line dry when possible and have an airer on the upstairs landing- if i'm feeling extravagant i will give the towels a quick 10 minute blast so they are soft though!
Today the weather is nice and bright but very windy. DH will have to get the grass cut today as it's so long now and he starts back at work tomorrow. Our lawn is huge and the petrol mower is too bulky for me - that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it!
Today I have alot of ironing to get through as i haven't done any for a couple of weeks.
Its my older sons girlfriends 18th birthday today so they plan on going out later to celebrate. my other son is permanently attached to his xbox so i will only see him when he needs food or drinks.
I will be glad when things get back to normal as i'm a bit of a stickler for routine. I have been jobhunting for the last 2 months and have applied to 10 jobs and not even one has got back to me or even acknowledged my application so am getting a bit disheartened about that but will not give in!
Anyhow better get a move on - have a great day everyone!
