Off to get the sticky
Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for 29th August 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.

Morning all
Bright & sunny here today, not sure how long it will last. I will wash the bedding & hope for the best.
Back to work tomorrow, though we don't start til 9.30, it gives us a few days head start as the pupils don't start til Thursday.
We need to go to the fish shop as we are nearly out of fish food, we were going to go yesterday but all the excitement of screaming at Vettle during the GP fair wore hubby out & we decided to leave it til today.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who follow. Up at the crack of dawn this morning watching Starwars for the third time in three days - yes its the same single episode. Got to love little boys!!! First load of washing out and when I've finished my coffee I'll put the second load on. Going to my neighbours for dinner today, so just have lunch and breakfast to think of. But before then I have the dog cage to put up, the garden to repair after the storms of last night and various bits and pieces to take to the skip. Spent last night sticking pins in my fingers - taking up school trousers and sewing in name tags.

Right, better get a move on.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning Hester & all to follow.

Sunshine here too but a little chilly. Was so cold when I got in last night we had to have the heating on

Had a good day yesterday, the British Museum was interesting but not my favourite museum. Got a couple of Starbucks :D and a half price jacket from the FCUK outlet shop. Also managed a little look in Cath Kidston.

Today have my hairdresser coming round to cut all our hair (apart from OH who doesnt have any). Will be tidying up in honour of her visit. I am also having my roots done so she will be here for a while. She is less than half price of the hairdressers:j

Fancy a roast today - Pork I think - will have to pop out this morning and buy a joint - hopefully one of the marrows in the garden will be ready.

More ironing to be done, also labelling of uniform, roll on Thursday :rotfl:x
  • Morning all!

Lovely day here (ATM!) so will get some washing on in a mo.

My children are back at school a week today.

Today DH/DD have spag bol for dinner. DS1 has beans on toast & I will make that lentil loaf for mine! Baby has whatever! He's not fussy. Like DS1.

Have kitchen & bathroom to clean today.

    (((hugs))) to all in need.

    Have a good day all

Blue skies in belfast today but a real chill in the air - love it :D

First day almost back to normal - step kids are back at school but just half a day today and tomorrow. I have work so just DD and DH this morning - be nice for them. DD has her new school shoes on too - she starts nursery next monday but didn't want to wait until then!

I have a choice for lunch today - not sure what to have! and I have chicken in breadbrumbs for dinner.

Will put the WM on before I go out and a few pots in the TD for later.

Hugs if you need one. x

  • Morning all :-)
Not the best weather this morning, but at least it's not raining - yet!
Not much planned for today other than a lazy day playing computer games and watching films with my boyf :-)
Tomorrow is the busy day - big shop in the morning then spending the day baking and batch cooking for my work lunches :-)

I always line dry whenever possible, I don't use my TD, I dry over the maiden & the radiator if it's too wet for outside.

    morning!

    a lovely morning here!

WM is on and will be hung outside shortly - I always dry outside when possible - if not I hang it inside and sometimes just give it ten mins in the dryer to soften the towels and undies. I never dry it from wet in the dryer.

HM vegie soup(from the freezer) for lunch and am going to make the Ainsley Harriot low fat butternut squash curry for tea.

DH is at work, DS is sleeping over at a friends after a get together, we're picking him up later and all going for a walk in the area over looking Ludlow Castle(a fab view of the town form here)

I'm off to do my usual fortnightly cleaning job soon. The lady I clean for will soon be off to the USA until Christmas where she has a house and I'll be spring cleaning while she's gone.
Last night I put all my new work rotas in the diary and I'm working both Christmas day and boxing day:( but have new year off - the joys of my line of work;) The shifts are usually shortened so hopfully will get some time at home. Its usually very quiet as several of the service users go home for Christmas. Sorry for mentioning the C word;):D so early on !

hope everyone has a great bank holiday x
