Right, all of downstairs is amazingly tidy, floors are clear, the bathroom is cleaned and I have wiped around LR enough to get by for a visit until that comes up on the fly-list.

Off shopping now, planning to do a nice salad with a selection of meats etc. Always nervous doing things like that. It is a lovely day and will be a nice spread but never quite sure what someone is expecting when they go round for lunch. Dinner is so much easier, why didn't I suggest that?

  • In my (lost count) HHC I...

    finished bleaching kitchen counters
vacuumed the kitchen (round edges and a million cobwebs)
bleached downstairs loo and put in a fresh hand towel

Doesn't sound much. I need a rest for a bit now.

    Mornin' all!

I'm in again this week. First day back at work today after 8 weeks - feels like I've never been away! I got to 10am before I started muttering 'p1ss-up & brewery' under my breath, so not too bad!!

Thank you to the usual suspects for the thread & encouragement. Kitchen is in need so I'm glad it's that room today - will make a start when I get home.

    Tuesday~ Kitchen and Dining area
    Level One
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe worksurfaces
Wipe fronts of appliances and units.. kickboards too!
    Level Two
Wipe small appliances and replace.. clean 1 to perfection..
Wipe table and replace cloth if needed

    Clean the tiles and sink
    Level Three
Sort out the fridge... what needs working into your meal plan before it tries running away?
Tidy the cupboard full of all those things you never use.. and get rid of the ones you really don't need

Wipe over oven and hob and fridge.

    Love to all.......

    I did thanks :p:p
greenbee I would appreciate your courgette soup recipe when you have a minute - as long as its easy that is!!!
    Here it is:

    Onion (probably one medium)
Potato (one large – potato thickens the soup slightly
    1lb courgettes
    Oil
    Salt & pepper
    1 tsp dried Tarragon
    1 ¼ pts stock

Sweat the vegetables in oil till soft. Add the herbs and stock. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Liquidize. Season to taste, and add cream if you like. Serve hot or cold. Keeps well. Will freeze (before adding cream ideally)

Hi wilf - nice to see you post.
Sounds like a lovely lunch, ajmoney. I'm sure it will be fine.

If I only look at selected areas of my kitchen, it's sparkling. Just need everyone to develop selective sight (or carry on cleaning). ;)

Just realised that my end-of-holiday must-do list is buried in the last thread, so I'll go hunting for it and update. Then time to shower and dress before turning yesterday's leftovers into today's lunch. :D

One load of washing in the WM, and DW emptied and reloaded so far this morning. Bed covers pulled back and window open to air the room. I'm going out to meet up with friends this afternoon before they all go back to school and get bogged down with planning etc again. Looking forward to seeing them, and hoping that the weather is as nice as it was yesterday, as we're meeting at a park.

I was so stressed about the possible move last night (and I think the coffee at 3pm didn't help either) that I ended up staying up playing computer games until 3am! Remarkably I don't feel too bad now after a bit of a lie-in until 9.30. Just remembered I didn't take my vitamin tablet last night, so I'm going to go and do that whilst I remember now. Then I'm going to see what I can cross off the list below. (Will update in a minute.)
