Hi all :j
Now have pva replenished thank goodness so I've done another kitchen organiser. Lovely paper with a pretty reverse to it so I covered the placemat with one pattern and did the shopping list, calendar and post it notes with the reverse...........even had enough to cover a notebook/journal to match. Covered a peg and stuck that on to hold the pen.
Halfway through the second one but kitchen table was covered with so much paper I thought I'd shelve that till tomorrow......especially now I;ve noticed that one edge of the paper on the first one needs a bit of re-sticking:( Just when I thought it was spot on.............oh well, c'est la vie as that say................lol
sapphire -well done with the knitting.:T I haven't done any for years as I had such problems with my hands and fingers and needed an operation. Somehow never got back into it and been thinking about having another go.
esmer - well done with the snowman soups...........now off to have a look at your blog:TI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

wammy - glad you're feeling better -can't help you with the tins though.......sorry.
Well, finished off the last two kitchen organisers....just need to work out who's having which of the 5 I've done..........lol
They've been so cheap to do really............
bought the paper at around 50p a sheet (2 sheets for each one),
placemats I used for them were ones I had at home that were a bit on the 'yuk' side but the cork back was ok.
I printed off the calendars, post it notes were 50p (one didn't have them just had peg with some little notepaper in it)
Wooden pegs I already had so covered them with paper and added button
Notepads for shopping lists -bought 3 for 50p from local printers and the others I had kicking around at home
Stuck peg on to hold a pen.........pens freebies from bookies -two with 2 diaries I bought
Had enough paper from one lot to cover a notebook -also one I already had sat doing nothing
Cord to hang them I already had.
So, quite happy it was a very mse pressie.....:j
Told myself I'm making nothing else.........(said that a few weeks ago...........lol) but really must come to a halt now and do serious wrapping of the rest of the stuff upstairs............:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I got them in a kind of poundshop. Maybe look around the highstreet in cheap shops.Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
Okay, I know I'm getting a bit carried away (I can't help it!) but I'm thinking of getting a sewing machine
Problem is I have no idea where to start - last time I used one was over 10 years ago (!) and I'm not sure what make to go for etc.
Anyone got any tips on what to look for?
I don't want to spend a fortune, but I do realise that if I get something too cheap i'll only end up replacing it quite quickly....... hmmmmm._____________________________________________party_ Handmade Christmas and Occassions 2011 _party_OS Moneysaving as much as I canGonna live 'The Good Life' - grow my own and 4 hens

Found this tutorial this morning which I think would be a lovely gift for Xmas and particularly good for anyone that has an laserjet printer. Its for personalised dispenser bottles (bit like the ones that Philosophy do which look really expensive)
