Hi all
I'm new to this thread so please be gentle.....
Hubby and I are buying for the kids, but we're doing handmade xmas for friends and (adult) relatives.
I have a fabulous receipe for baileys and white chocolate fudge slab which the ladies will be getting, chilli vodka (for sister-in-law), christmas biscuits, and melting chocolate truffles
I came across this website earlier on in the year and it's got some lovely ideas for christms gifts and decorations http://www.taradennis.com.au/celebrate/christmas.aspx - I'm making each person a personalised cinamon tree decoration to tie to each of the gifts.

thank you for such an inspiring thread.
just wondered can the fabric journals also be covered with paper or would they not be very hardwearing at the corners.0 -

Hi,
Yes they definately could be covered with paperi've done that alot especially for little notebooks and i've covered pencils to match the notebooks,
If you want them to be more hardwearing you could always use this http://printstopolkadots.co.uk/ocart/index.php?route=product/product&path=54&product_id=573 you simply place it over your paper, its slightly tacky so easy to keep on, then place a towel over it and iron on a non steam setting, it makes your paper (or fabric) waterproof and very hardwearing like oil cloth. I use it alot for making make-up bags using vintage book papers and magazine paper or patterened papers to suit the specific person. :TBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -

If you do need to buy new jars then IKEA is a good place to go - they sell small, medium, and large glass jars with silicone seal and a metal clasp (if you know what I mean?!) which makes them airtight, they're only 89p, 99p and £1.79p each. Search for 'SLOM' on the website for pic and info. I use them for homemade Christmas biscuits and chutneys.
Also sell bottles with the same seal which is great for putting chilli vodka in!!
Thank you also wammy
I am so in love with the table lantern, think i may just need to make that next weekend

I am not going to be AS handmade as I had originally hoped, but I still have a good bit done. I have almost finished a scarf for DH's aunt - the knitting is finished, I just need to sew in ends, sew on a button and think about whether to make a flower for other side of button as a decoration.
I've also made a few candles in cups (10c each in charity shop) to add to hampers for 3 couples, which have various jams, alcoholic beverages, and dried herbs included that I made myself (and will add a few bits from shop).GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
