  • Hellloooo ladies,
I thought you had all deserted the thread, for some reason my email wasn't getting the 'new comment thing' until today, very strange!
But had a look at everyones links and items and they are amazing, I recently got a new sewing machine (lovely hubbies early gift ) it's a singer the one from home bargains and i <3<3<3 it,
I've made a quilt for my son and he loves it, A sock rabbit, a pair of slippers, a 2 taggy blankets, a bag, some lavender hearts and i have loads more on my to sew list.

Has anyone purchased the Kirsties home book? Also hubby bought me the sew pretty homestyles and the other one by tone finnanger and the cath kidston sew book (with the free cath kidson bag to make , fabric, buttons etc) and they are AMAZING!
So if anyone was thinking about those books as a santa list entry, then definately go for it!!!! <3

Yesterday afternoon I introduced my eldest daughter (11) to our sewing machine that I bought for my Mum when I was 16 and got my first job. She wanted to sew some ribbon on a pocket that is going on a bag she is making for a project at school.

The machine is electronic and does embroidery too so she had a whale of a time with an old tea towel as I didn't have a scrap of material in the house for her to play with !!!!! How remiss of me! So I now have a tea towel with my daughter's name and all her friends names on it. pmsl. She is very into fashion - with her own twist so I may have just landed myself with a budding fashion designer!

In my opinion it's amazing, it's so easy to use, easy to set up, comes with accessories like other feet, pickers, oils, needles etc, it sew's like a dream. I've made things from little hearts to large quilts no problems with it, it comes with a cover and accessory compartment and does a variety of stitches to suit everything, plus you can get extra feet and needles (i paid £1.75 for a variety pack of 6 needles) on Ebay for super cheap. :T
Plus it's singer! i'd definately say go for it hunny. x

esmer - what cute little dogs :T I had a go earlier this year for a boy we used to look after (grown up now and got a dog)........well mine looked awful, had to spend ages messing about with it to get it looking anything like.............lol:rotfl:
Super 'pot of gold'...........glad its not just me who creates havoc doing something............you wouldn't believe the state of my kitchen table today and all I was doing was covering choccy bars like reindeer............lol:rotfl:

Think I'm about finished all my ''projects'' now.........down to OH to do the fudge for 'fudge kebabs' for teenage grandkids and the jar of brownie mix will be easy as all the stuff is in the cupboard. Any other ideas I see I'll keep for next year..........think if I do any more this year I'll go potty...............lol:rotfl:

Week of meetings with soc.services plus plumber coming to service the boiler.........time the house was given a bit of a tidy up :)

Must sit down and add up what this years christmas has cost me...........I've tried to recycle where I can and do everything ''on the cheap'' (without sounding mean but OH's not been able to work full time for a year now so needs must). Be interesting to see what its cost me. Most expensive things were the family tree scrapbooks for my boys........the books were cheap enough but it was all the paper and printing that added up. Still, there a 'one off' so next year should be easier -on time and the purse...........lol:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Quilt made of fleecey backing and binding, just at the pinning stage so looks a bit lopsided lol, it's finished now and he loves it as a nightime quilt as i used warm wadding to make it super toasty.
