Evening folks, well thats me over budget and 12 days to go!!! I did cut the bidget by £30 this month so if I had left it I would be ok, plus its more than a month = should have taken that into account. On the face of things its not too bad, the baking ingredients cupboard is full, the freezer is full, I have enough onions to keep us going to christmas LOL!, along with stornoway black puddings, it will just be the fresh stuff I need over the next 12 days. I got our farmshop veg delivery today, which has enough veg and eggs to see us through, eventhough it was £29 it saves me going to Tesco and the quality is excellent, I also bought a ham shank today for making soup tomorrow and I will use the meat off it for another meal. I got given cooking apples so will use these up too. Lovely split pea soup, followed by apple crumble or eves pudding with home made custard - how much more OS can you get!!!
    Every days a School day!

Been to Mr T twice today. Got a really good deal on washing powder this morning and decided to take the powder I bought the other day back and get some more on offer, only they had sold out of course. Did manage to get some salmon and sausages in the whoopsie section. Total spend £14.50 today. But that is washing powder for 3 months and 6 meals of meat so not too bad.

£5.85 spent in Lidl yesterday. Today I made a veg casserole in my SC with a stew pack I got from Morrisons for 50p, and used the last of a 30p loaf to mop up the gravy, was enough for tonight's dinner for DP and I, and we have some left over for tomorrow's lunch!

I went to visit Mr T today as well, and spent £6.27, 40p of which was on a bunch of celery that I don't need yet but if I left it it would have stopped being on a good offer. It's chopped up and nestled in the freezer now, I'm going to use it in pasta sauce in a couple of weeks.

I've already known for a while my budget was bust, but it's still annoying. Oh well, to try again!

Thanks very much to those who have offered kind words, they're much appreciated :)

Spend of £9.27 in the last 2 days, preceded by 2 NSDs.

Total so far = £179.77 so have £95.23 left. It's doable, if I'm careful. Need to keep my online shop to £45 or below (incl del) and then I have 2 weeks of £25 cash also before the end of the month, but I need several things, so we'll see.

Another spend today - £42.91 at Mr T. That should be our last big shop of the month as our cupboards are rammed! Though we do have one more £7.50 off voucher I'll be tempted to use. I might cheat and do a shop but count it towards next months grocery spend.

Princessmort, I haven't had a smirnoff ice for years and now I really fancy one! Going to a wedding tomorrow so might just have one and persuade DH to drive for once.
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!
  • Just spent £82 at Mr S which is so awful and now it's impossible for me to come in on budget, particularly as it's my bday next weekend and we have people coming for dinner and drinks which I've yet to buy.

The £82 included £10 of roses/celebrations and £10 of alcohol so it's not as bad as it seems on the face of it but still. I also bought stardrops so hoping they're as good as people on here say!

Feeling rubbish about my challenge! :(
