I spent £3 today on milk and a paper. Only a week and a half to go with £50 left of my first budget. With the freezer rammed and enough staples to last I'm quite hopeful.
Totally lovin the mutual support this thread gives.

Spent £6.60 today on a paper, bread, oatcakes, brocolli and lottery.
Already had some veg in but grand daughter staying tonight and she loves her 'green trees'.
Have just put some beef, carrots, onions, leeks and pearl barley in the slow cooker for tomorrows dinner which we will have with mashed potatoes and the brocolli.
Will probably do an apple crumble as well and if so that will be another item out of freezer.
Tomorrow will be a NSD and have spent in total £48.72/£160 so far.
Was watching cooking this morning on the t.v. while I was ironing and its inspired me to have a go at bread by hand. Bread maker is ok but I dont like the hole it leaves when the paddle is taken out plus recently it hasnt been quite right for some reason.
Hugs to all who need them and keep posting everyone as its always helpful to others.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
£1.50 on a pineapple and 2lbs mixed plums, well that's fruit until thurs/fri and a plum cake for puddings. I forgot how awesome the market is for fruit and veg, shall have to resume my weekly trip there!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

An NSD for me today. I am fully stocked up so should be alright until i get paid next. I really fancy something comforting tonight. Perhaps something with mash potato. In my meal plan I had fish pie and chicken pie on there so might make one of those. I have some leeks to use up so perhaps a chicken and leek pie topped with mash and served with veg. I might even make the self saucing chocolate pud as a desert. It is really getting colder here. Not sure about where you are. My milkman didn't deliver milk last week and the week before sent me semi skimmed
I have whole milk as I use it in so many things and is also the only milk I like to drink. I will need to get some blue tomorrow. Anyway I have planted up my new veg bed in the garden and hopefully it should go ok. I am so surprised at the japenese bunching onion seeds I planted- brilliant! They seem to grow very strong and look a lot more like the spring onions I am used to rather than a large bulb and no green stuff. Definitely going to do more of those! Might use some thinnings to make some potato salad too.
Anyway I am going to crawl back under my blanket until I feel a bit warmer. Have a good day allFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790
