£7.87 spent at Mr T but £2.95 of that was on a Mr T air freshener refill (we have a doggie so really do need it) and a bottle of lucozade for DS footie rolleyes.gif.

So my baking stuff came to £4.72 which was what I expected. I knew I should have gone myself ! Grrrrr lol

  • First grocery shop since joining the challenge today and I spent £69.73, which surprised me as I had quite a lot of "proper food" in the trolley. I realised as I was carefully analysing everything that went into my trolley that there are some things I am prepared to downshift and others upon which I refuse to compromise. So.......

Instead of the expensive brand of hot chocolate that would have cost £3.08 I am going to try Mr M's own brand for £1.19.

However, we really like wholewheat pasta and I bought 2 packets of 500g for 75p each rather than 1kg of normal spaghetti for £1.09.

Bought some more ingredients to make cookies and it looks like they will work out cheaper than £1.75 for 8 provided the novelty of cooking them does not wear off.

Off to update signature now - technically I should not need anything else until next Sunday.

    best wishes everyone

Mongmoney, Mr M has ace deals on clip lock type boxes from tiny to huge. Just got some last week when I 'popped in' only for beans and cheese' - but did need them for my packed lunch campaign (unsupported by rest of family, so far, but still trying...)

Sadly the reason DS's hot lunch on Friday was cold was cos he had dropped the food flask and the inside lining had shattered - back to sarnies I think, for now. Darn.

Hoping for a nsd today tho will probably need milk. Or we could just buy a cow.:)
  • Hi All,
Well, I have spent £145.20 out of a budget of £175 for the month, which seems really scary! however I have so much food in, I cannot fit another thing in my cupboards, fridge or freezer, everytime I go to get something its a work of art, not to have the lot crashing down on me:D

Its nice to see I'm not the only one with a fussy cat! After the heads-up from ChocClare last week, I used my Mr. T vouchers and doubled them up, and got £30 of felix for £15 - so she has another ten boxes, to go with the six I already had!! (just my luck she'll go off them now!)

Just off on a tangent now, but it made me laugh. It was our 5th wedding anniversary on Friday so we went out for a meal, which is a rareity for us. DH informed me, we won't have pudding, cos we got vienetta at home, and the food is overpriced anyhow! I know I'm always trying to save a quid here and there, but there's a time to be tight!!

    Have a good week everyone

I mix whiskas biscuits with Asda's own, they don't seem to notice. Felix pouches are still on offer at Asda, 48 for £10. I will post if I spot a good deal anywhere. We fussy cat owners need to stick together. :)

Thanks, do you know when the offer ends? I'll get to Asda one day this week then!
