Jsa suspended until 2011

Hi, I have recently moved house which involved having to give up my job. The reason for moving was because of the bad area we lived in and had been victims of anti-social behaviour for 7 years, constant harassment and then I was threatened to be stabbed.
I have gone onto JSA and been receiving payments. Yesterday in the mail I received a letter syaing they had agreed with my reasons but it would be looked at again and a final decision sent. Today I received a letter saying only my husband would be in receipt of JSA as a single person claim and I receive nothing. I have bills coming out of my ears, rent to pay, food to buy, and to top it all of Ive had the week from hell so this is 'perfect' timing.
I obviously need to appeal but I just dont know how they can have come to this decision? I would like them to have lived there to see what it was like because it was hell! I would have ended up having to give up my job anyway as depression was badly setting in!
Would it help if I sent in proof of what was happening? I kept logs of it all and have some letters in boxes somewhere from the old landlords and the police.
Thanks

Was this in your opinion or that a qualified consultant? It makes a difference as you can't just quit a job because you are feeling down.I would have ended up having to give up my job anyway as depression was badly setting in!

With the proof of the anti-social behaviour. I'd give it a shot show them everything you can. Is it worth it though? You do know the difference between single jsa and couples jsa is only £37.30 per week. Out of interest how long were you sanctioned for? If this is the new start you need then a job will go really well with that.
Oh, your rent should be covered by HB/LHA.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Yes I know that is the difference but that is a lot of money? and its needed to get by? Like I said I have bills coming out of my ears, for this house and the last and struggling as it is.
With regards to the depression it got to the point where I didnt want to be leaving the house and some days would sit on the stairs waiting for them all to go away before I could hurry out to where I needed to go and just hope they werent there when I returned. Having your heart jump up into your throat everytime something hits the window. Having the window broken for no reason known to you. Being threatened to be stabbed because someone wants to keep hitting your windows? Its not nice!Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -

Sorry didnt see that, had a real bad week and mind is elsewhere.
We moved about 30 miles away. Also to be closer to family members as we were alone with no support in the town and they are all 30+ miles away from there.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -

The question the JCP will ask is did you need to move that far away, or could you have continued to commute? You need to demonstrate that these options were not open to you.Gone ... or have I?0 -
if you had depression you should have seen a doctor, got signed off and then moved house and none of this would ahve happened thenmortui non mordent0

Why does your husband not work?
I would most definately take in the proof, but I agree with dmg, 30 miles really isn't that far to commute, I used to do 60, so I think you also need to say why you couldn't work there until a new job came along.
I would possibly go and see a doctor about your depression, it is a serious illness and even though you feel you may have moved away from the cause, it doesn't mean you will get better.0 -

Husband is looking for work, with his last job the factory closed down.
It may be 30 miles but I do not drive so it is difficult for me to get there and the job was community care so it was spread out over the whole day which isnt possible to do now as there would be sometimes hours between calls, I would have nowhere to go for those hours etc etc.
Im not wanting to go down the depression route, been there before and dont want to again. I felt it coming and didnt want to have to go through all that again. Not a good time to see about that anyway as I said its been a bad week, lost someone really close a couple days ago so Im not in the best way as it is.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
