If I get the full refund, I might just try buying it again in the same store later that day (or get the OH to do it) assuming they havent taken the poster down etc

I'm gutted I didnt act sooner on the checkout, it only dawned on me as I was queing up at the CS desk what was gonna happen...
If you haven't drawn attention to the poster and POS, get a full refund today and get the OH to pop back later on tonight and buy the two items together at the CS desk (or make sure he picks up a console box with a barcode that can be scanned).
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I didnt really draw attention to it, just said I should have got the £20 for buying the 2 together, to be honest she didnt even go and check I was right just gave me the £20!

Oh and my OH is a SHE ;) (I'm a guy)

I woud have thought you'll be okay to be hoest. Basically they offered you the discount at the shelf and then stopped you getting it at the till, either way it souns like an overcharge.

I haven't been to Tescos today but am really tempted to wander out and see what Ican find, trouble is all the Tescos are pretty small round my way so they tend to be on top of pricing.

Shame they can't be as good at keeping stock on the shelves....

  • Hi there,

I was reading this thread with great interest and was wondering if anyone could give me a hint as to which store to try in my area for the Xbox offer. I will be stuck with my little one for another 2 hours before I will be able to hit the stores, so do you think it'll be still worth trying to hunt one down by that time? I should probably mention that I tried my local one (Hatfield)yesterday with no joy! I saw the posters with the offer, the game of teh week but no Xboxes anywhere!
Any suggestions appreciated as to wether it's still worth going out by this time?

    Thanks!

Opps...sorry. I think you should go for it. If possible, take your purchases back to another store today (like NOW), then go back to the store you saw the poster in and buy the two items at the CS desk. Check the POS and posters are still up first. Chances are the person you saw earlier has finished and gone home by now.

Its a really tough call, cant make up my mind wether to fight for this one or take it back and try again (if I do that I would get another 300 odd clubcard points I guess..)

Just out of interest, to those of you that are serial R&R-ers, what kind of reaction are you getting when you have to go back to HO multiple times? I'm guessing some of you are speaking to Joanne/Kevin about different refusals over the space of a couple of weeks?

I would have thought they would start to be less inclined to support you if you keep going back, or are they simply happy to uphold the Tesco policy no matter how many times you use it?

Thats what I'm thinking of doing, just having my dinner (R&R fillet steak! lol) then might pop it back to another store. Although may chance leaving it til the morning to go back up to the original store
