    took 3-4 hours out on 4 different days and managed 2 xboxs, 2 psps, 1 DS, 1 wireless router, 1 PS2 :)

luckily i have 4 BIG tescos within 45 mins of each other, plus I do it with a mate so I have some company...its a laugh :D

  • Had a good evening on the way home from work yesterday.

I stopped at one store to collect my Xbox 360 Core refund.

I then stopped at another Tesco nearer home (for bread and milk) only to see the PSP £10 off sign up. I could not resist and picked up the PSP and game, paid for it and went to CS for my refund. The young CS ladies were very helpful and after a couple of phone calls were happy to refund my money. I got the impression that they don't do many big RnR's.

Yasmin, go to your nearest Tesco and ask for a storefinder catalogue. It tells you where all the Tescos are. Then spend a few hours going to the ones near you and see if the £10 off signs and Game of the Week posters are there. If they are, go get yourself a PSP and Tekken game. Thats all the rest of us are doing. You could be lucky and find more than one store with them available. Happy hunting.
  • Phoned head office yesterday after trying to do an R&R on a DS & Game (game of the week that was overcharged). CS absolutely point blank refused to honour policy, but offerred the £10 difference. Head office advised me not to accept the £10 and that they would get back to me.

The lady at HO was very interested by why the manageress wouldn't honour the policy and said "Some action would be taken".

I think the score is this... Each Tesco store gets merited on it's profitability and sales etc. A large R&R (Console/Phone/other) damages this and reflects on the management. This is why HO appears to be so helpful, and CS not so! lol. (plus i think there's a bit of jealousy going on there too!).

I'm just waiting for my call to tell me to go back there and collect my refund. FYI the stores in Essex seem very difficult to get R&R over a tenner without HO intervention.

    Budgens Local.
  • Something i've noticed; that despite the discussion forum now getting 150 posts an hour, (of which 95% about Xboxes), the main misprice forum is getting hardly any new overpriced goods!

Are we finding less misprices for general items, with tesco cleaning up their act, or are we all just looking for xboxes, so have no time to report other misprices?

Yep I'll agree with you on that one! Waiting to hear back about my refund from HO now....

this is defo the case for me...since the great console RnR started I havn't really bothered with smaller stuff...mainly for the reason that I don't want to be dealing with the same CS over and over for different items

It's always good that you have your own opinion so please dont be sorry about it.

I read MSE to learn and understand how to receive maximum benefit from the offers, promotions and loopholes whilst staying 100% inside the law. With this I'm not just talking about Tesco, I'm talking about credit cards, gas suppliers, building societies etc - a big part of MSE that a lot of people dont seem to look at.

For the other offers (gas suppliers etc), I would say "yeah, the more publicity the better, it will create a competitive market" but for this particular Tesco loophole, the SELs quickly get removed so there is very limited availability. It may appear selfish, but I've already explained what I think would happen if this forum became mainstream news, one way or another it would result in the decline of the forum.

It's sad that whilst many MSE'rs are happy picking off the fruits (and steaks and noddy albums) of their labours, all you appear to be doing is seeking revenge. PM me if you want contact details for an anger management course in your area. Always happy to help.

That's quite condescending of you to make such a statement, are you aware that if it wasn't for those of us seeking to redress the situation with regards pricing integrity that you probably wouldn't even know the policy existed, some of us are not about grabbing all and everything free, some of us have principles and goals we persue, the spin off are threads such as this for you to benefit from. As McD pointed out this is not an elite group you are part of, anyone who comes here for help will get that help irrespective of where they hark from and yes that includes Tesco employees also.

Every now and then a relatively new poster comes up with some such secret squirrel type proposal in order to ensure that they don't have to share their good fortune with others, well I'm afraid that isn't going to happen, not here not now. Feel free to join in and post your finds but I doubt many will agree with your proposal to exclude others from the benefit of this thread.
