  • You would have to prove that he was aware of your religion when he banned you, Kondormid. He cannot discriminated against something he is unaware of. I doubt a court of law would consider what you claim to be a religion as such. Seriously, you're on the wrong tack with this one. He won't give you a reason, thus using his right to ban you without reason. If you press for a reason, he will say that you were abusive to his staff. How are you going to prove you weren't? Your word against his and his staff.

Just so we know what we are talking about and wht level offence this is.
There have been cases in pubs where Englishmen have been barred from a pub on the grounds of bad behaviour and later it has been claimed that the Englishman was discriminated against. There have been out of court settlements on this of 20,000 quid purely and simply because the risk of someone winning could go into the hundreds of thousands.

It would in my opinion be wrong not to fight a case like this without an out of court settlement IF you have not broken the law and IF you were just expressing your religion.

    Anyway, my overall point was...
Tesco should be very carefull about banning people when they are doing nothing wrong, it is very dangerous grounds for them to be on.

PS, if any members of the Church of Consumer Rights is interested in pursueing a claim I would be only to happy to escort them to the store and record them being told to leave on the grounds of abusing the refunds policy. I would also be willing to inform the store manager that he is not allowed to do this as it is the persons religious and legal right to enforce consumer rights.

Does anyone have any idea if the discount will work with a psp giga pack?
  • I didnt manage to get a games console : ( & would dearly love one for my sons xmas present. Is it allowed to ask if anyone has a spare they would like to sell? If it is please pm me.

I believe from previous posts that it isn't allowed.

CeX sell second hand ones with 12 months guarantee starting at about 105 quid I believe.

However, Tescos aint short of a buck or two, and unlike some pubs (which are not chains, or are smaller chains) could easily afford to fight such legal action.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

    The plot thickens...

CS call to say that he cannot divulge the info I require but the letter will be self explanatory

Is that as self explanatory as their RnR policy that they continue to argue about
    I haven't got one!

Depends on the type of store. (which I posted earlier). Post #975.

True, but it's not the court ruling that Tesco would be scared of - it would be the bad publicity. The media would have a field day over it. I think everyone who's been banned should send an e-mail to their local paper, all the national papers, and BBC Watchdog.

    "BANNED FOR BEING OVERCHARGED"

Tesco would be horrified by headlines like that. They hate anything which threatens to damage their friendly, fluffy, nice guy image.
