i finally managed to nab a 25p room for my daughter and myself in edinburgh so we can go see the christmas village in december. i'm going back in to book the night before for 12.50, wish me luck!
Thank you for this, it is unfortunately too late now, they are all gone!0 -
same for me, found a couple of dates at different locations for 25p, when you click through it goes up to full price.

What is room cancellation insurance? Does anyone know please?
Do you get charged if you book a day you are not sure of and then can't make it (even though you have 'paid' for the room)? Thanks.0 -

i've had my confirmation text for one of the nights i booked (got too excited and forgot to click yes for the first one!)
i paid 25p for dec 15th in edinburgh and 12.65 (includes 15p text fee) for the 14th of december in edinburgh at the same place. WOOHOO
only just this morning was i telling my daughter i wished i'd booked the shandwick travelodge a few months ago for 29 quid a night :rotfl:
much better deal now, TWO nights mid december, full swing of the christmas village and all the magical christmas splendour that edinburgh puts on each year for a mere 12.90 :T
thank you sooooo much to meerustar for this!0 -

my impression is that you pay that so that if you need to cancel you can get a refund. normal booking policy for cheap rooms is pay now and NO refund if you can't make it. obviously it's not worth it on a 25p room, however if you're in doubt and pay for a 12.50 room or higher then it could be worth it EDITED TO ADD: i just printed out my email confirmations and it states specifically that saver rooms can be cancelled but not refunded at all so don't waste your money on the cancellation insurance if you're getting a saver deal.
btw we're heading off on monday to enjoy a room at the rose street travelodge in edinburgh that i booked about 4 months ago for 9 quid! can't wait... and i still can't believe my luck, how on earth did i get a room at the end of the fringe festival on rose street (next street over from princes street!) for so little? oh yes it was wonderful folks like all of you cluing me in on it! this single mum really appreciates everyones help as rates like this give me and my daughter much needed breaks away since we can't afford a proper holiday. thank you!0 -
I was too slow as i was clicking through the dates and they were changing to higher prices, but decided to go for a £12.50 room in Edinburgh in Dec. Gutted i missed out0
