Ladies, is it worth a row to have matching window blinds?

Sorry OP, I just don't get it!
I thought you meant in the same room. But it never even occurred to me that people might walk past my home and tut-tut that all the rooms did not co-ordinate from the outside.
I do have a bit of a nosy at houses when I go jogging, but this has never been something I've taken the slightest bit of notice of!Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
Ok....I think some of you might be being just a little extreme here? :rotfl:
I don't for one minute think people will 'tut tut' or think bad thoughts about me or my home just because my windows don't have the same type of covering.
As I said, I have always felt that a house looked neater that way and going by those around me, I had assumed this was a reasonably popular thought. Judging by your replies, clearly it's not even thought of at all, by some. :rotfl:
I wonder if this is one of those things that started with family or regional variations? Maybe that's why it's a bigger thing here than it is with some of you? Who knows.
Your replies have been interesting though, so thank you all.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Personally I would prefer it if all of the blinds matched in the sense that the bit you see outside all looks the same - I just think it looks nicer and 'smarter' although I'd never judge anyone on blind choice lol!
If you want a blackout in the bedroom could you perhaps get the blinds, but get a blackout lining in any curtains you get? I find blinds always tend to 'leak' around the edges anyway.0 -
I agree with you aliasojo
I don't tut at windows with blinds that don't match - but I do admire the houses that do, they do look neater imo
There is one particular house that looks great with their blinds, so much so that I'm tempted to ask them where they got them0 -
Thank you....I was beginning to feel like I was just a lone voice in the wilderness . :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0

I think its a very very Scottish thing aliasojo, no one I know who isn't Scottish would ever consider such a thing! Personally it doesn't bother me much, two of my front windows have white and two, red, and some of my neighbours matching windows look a bit "chavvy". But I do remember when I was little, all my family and neighbours having matching nets! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Don't get me wrong, if thats what you want to do to your house, thats absolutely fine with me
- but I honestly have never noticed if a house does or doesn't have matching blinds - and I'm Scottish!

I wondered that once I saw all the replies.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I like all my windows to be the same from outside, but then I have OCD. However, I also have blackout blinds at all windows which keep the house cool in summer, warm in winter and help me get a little sleep. I'm not really much help am I0
