I might do something homemade-y for Xmas presents this year, but I don't know what. Some sort of boozy truffles would be fun.
Coconut ice looks great, is cheap, quick to make and you can buy the cellophane bags with tags for around £1 for a load off ebay.

Sounds like a fun day Bunny! Will be good to catch up. I have been away toooo long!
Right, have made a small payment to my credit card to make sure it stays under £1000 when my train ticket payment goes through.
I am also hopefully doing a car boot sale a week on Sunday, which will help to clear out the built-in wardrobe (which is full of car-boot stuff).
I can't quite face Ebay yet, but it will probably come to that, if I am serious about getting this card repaid.
Next thing to tackle is a meal plan. If I didn't have to cook for two fussy kids, I could easily survive on food I already own for the next month! As it is, I will need to buy some things, but hopefully not too much."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Truffles and coconut ice both sound like excellent ideas!
I am guessing I will have to make those nearer the time. I might make some little bottles of flavoured vodka in the meantime, but I'm not sure where I can get some nice, small bottles from. Maybe little individual-size wine bottles with the labels removed and new labels created?
I would have to drink the wine then though - oh what a terrible imposition!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
yep - make the coconut ice just before you need it Snags, it's so quick though, you just chuck it in a bowl, stir, add colouring to half if you want it stripey and then roll out and stick in the fridge

how do you make flavoured vodka?
you can get small sample bottles of wine in asda not sure how much they are thoughBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Claire - I pop the fruit (I've done plum this year) into the vodka. Leave for a month and then add sugar - about 8 ounces for a 70cl bottle. Give it a swirl every day for 2-3 days to dissolve the sugar and then leave for 3 months. Stuff started now will be ready for Christmas.
I have lots of plum vodka and plum brandy to share

Be brave snaggles.....it's a tough task, but someone will have to do it

The homemade truffles and coconut ice sound good though.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
BB, do you leave the plums in the alcohol?
I tried the toffee vodka a couple of years ago, it looked vile _pale_Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
