** Thursday 26th Daily Chat** - One Day closer to the weekend :)

Morning all

Grey miserable and remarkably cold here this morning....August, really it feels like October!

Another busy day here, need to venture back to the old house for final clearance and a bit of cleaning before final removals on saturday. I will be glad next week to be able to do some nice things with B other than trapse her back and forth. She is bored, and Im tired and this results in us both falling out :(

got to go and pick up wardrobe and chest of drawers from someone we have bought it off tonight and then I am going to collapse in a heap with wine :)

Oh and I need to unplumb the washing machine...any advise?

    Morning Sal, and followers

Nice to see I was missed yesterday - though I think its the challenges more than me that you want.

Normally I wouldn't lay down a challenge as I didn't start the thread but as a one time only offer:

    1. Approach EVERYTHING you tackle today with a 'can do' attitude
    2. Put 5p extra in the saving/debtbusting pot
    3. Tell someone you love them
    4. Declutter one drawer/cupboard - bin anything broken/unsellable and charity shop/ebay the rest
    5. Write your Xmas card list ( I know but there's only 120 days to go!)
    26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%
    28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%

Morning from s wet Wakefield truck stop .
Sally , turn your water off before pulling the w/machine out to get at the flexi pipes , that way you won't get any nasty surprises should something come adrift . Have a bowl ready for any water coming out of the pipes , especially the waste....and lean the machine over a bit when disconnected so that some of the water left in if comes out then rather than all over your clothes or carpet when moving it.
So glad its all coming together for you.
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

#4 might be a bit of a struggle, I'm driving home today. But I'll drive home with #1 in mind. After all, I drove for 6 hours all over Bath last night, the same amount of time on the motorway shouldn't be a problem. I'll see what I can do about #2, as long as I can afford the petrol to get home. #3 will be James and #5 I can do this evening.

Luc I am sure it was you that was missed:)

Nobody seems to notice if I am ever AWOL:rotfl:

No advice on the washing maching Sally sorry

I am feeling quite low today as OH came home last night and there had been an emergency meeting to inform the staff that their isnt enough money to pay everyones wages so they will only be getting 80% of their wages on Tuesday (would normally go in tomorrow if payday falls near a bank holiday)....the rest they will get basically when the company has it.

He is convinced that its only a matter of months before they close the doors:(

In other news........It looks like if I dont get 2 full groups of students then my department will close and I will be made redundant or at the very best kept on a 0.5 contract.

I have nowhere near the numbers of students I need

...........bit crap but no point getting myself in a frenzy until we know for sure.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Will do - planning on building an ark.

    2. Put 5p extra in the saving/debtbusting pot
5p gone in copper jar AND 5p piece in Children's Society box (they get all my 5ps)

    3. Tell someone you love them
    DD1's b'day so sent her a text. She's 30!

    4. Declutter one drawer/cupboard - bin anything broken/unsellable and charity shop/ebay the rest
Kitchen food cupboard on today's list.

    5. Write your Xmas card list ( I know but there's only 120 days to go!)
I use a spreadsheet from year to year and I created my 2010 folder last week. :A:A

    Morning all.
Absolutely tipping it down here and very windy. I'm a bit chilly too. Stay at home day for me.

    Morning all

Lou - Crap news all round but like you say, no point letting it get to you until you know for sure, just look on it as advanced warning to do anything you can now to make things a bit more bearable if the worst happens.

Sally - Don't beat yourself up over B being bored, she's getting a great lesson in "life" and how sometimes it's not all fun and games but she will appreciate it all in the end with your new house and new life. Enjoy your wine tonight, I think you deserve it.

Luc - Thanks for the challenge, I shall come back to that later.

    1. Approach EVERYTHING you tackle today with a 'can do' attitude - Already have and will carry on with it
    2. Put 5p extra in the saving/debtbusting pot - £2 coin in the pot
    3. Tell someone you love them - Done :D I woke up to a lovely cuddle.
    4. Declutter one drawer/cupboard - bin anything broken/unsellable and charity shop/ebay the rest - If I can corner DD1 for half an hour before she slinks off for the day I shall insist she helps sort her wardrobe and sort out a bag for chairty (can't pass it down to DD2 as DD1 is a size 6 and DD2 a size 8)
    5. Write your Xmas card list ( I know but there's only 120 days to go!)Because I'm a real "billy no mates" I've only got 16 cards to send, but I shall be making them so really do need to think about checking on supplies and a thinking of a theme for this years cards - although why I theme them when the recipients(sp?) only ever see one card is beyond me.

I do enjoy these challenges Luc - Thanks :T

Have just ordered my tumble drier and food processor via quidco, via sainsburys, so cashback and nectar points...paid for on my Mr T's CC so clubcard points too. Have the money sitting in my ISA to pay the bill as soon as it comes.....I feel like a proper grown up. :D

Hi Bookie, Pooky and Kayleigh (sounds a bit like a 60s band, you know like Dave Dee Micky Beaky whatever they were called :rotfl:) :hello:

I've got a quiet day at work again, but got my gym induction at lunchtime, going for a run later, and planning what to do with my days off (Friday and Tuesday Mr S is working so I will be doing lots of gym, swimming and possibly a massage :))
