Trying for a Baby Part Six

Hi ladies - I have another question - which is probably stupid but....
How long does it take to get pregnant? I mean in the scientific sense of you do the baby dance (love that term), the sperm and the egg does its bit and hey presto you’re pregnant. Does that happen in a couple of days of you doing the BD or does it take the majority of your cycle for the magic to happen?
Of course I appreciate that it can be a long hard slog before the magic happens.
Well, it depends on how you view things. If you are talking about the sperm meeting egg, that COULD be the same day as BD'ing, I think.
But, implantation doesn't occur until about 10DPO I think and it can vary by a few days. And even if implantation happened at this point, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will get a positive on a test yet, as the hormones can take a while to increase enough to be detected.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi all
Check me out, i finished at 5.30 today, good huh? i have a few days off too which im soooo pleased about. Had a bit of a 'stamping feet' moment at work and said things need to change or i will be walking out the door.....got a few answers and had a good chat so fingers crossed things might ease off but again heard it all before.....
Anyway boring work dramas ive posted enough about that back to TTC news...... I have seen EWCM this week but only small amount (not as much as last month maybe cos of stress) we are bd'ing every other day but are away with his folks this weekend so not sure how much we will get next few days but will trycalamityclare:hello:

I'm sure you all ask this from time to time, but how the hell do people get pregnant 'by accident'? If you can only hit the jackpot on a certain day, with the jubilee line running without delays and malaysian chicken on pret's menu - how do the Jeremy Kyle clientele (I was off last week ;O) manage to fall by accident?
:rotfl: LOL love it! You can stay(although not for long, hopefully!)

No, the opposite if anything! Mine hates hot weather. Mind you, i've been exhausted this week and good for nothing.BB1984, are you 5DPO?
No idea. It looks like it to me, based on temps and CM, but FF is determined not to put an ov line in! Mind you, my temps still look quite low compared to most other people - am I just cold-blooded?! My luteal phase in the one and only previous cycle where I'm pretty sure I ov'd was 12 days, so maybe I'll find out next thursday...!
Good luck for tomorrow QQ, hope all goes well! Acupuncture is fun, I liked it

Oh dear.... If there was a test you took before you were allowed to even TTC (I know the lingo:D), I guess I would be told to get a cat:(I'm sure you all ask this from time to time, but how the hell do people get pregnant 'by accident'? (If this is the wrong place for my musing, please let me know - I may write in a slightly flippant way, but this journey is not being taken lightly at all. The flippancy is to try to raise a smile with every paragraph!)Music to my ears...
Just informed The Man and had the reply that I'd better buy some redbull on my way home! This week has been 'busy' so far:D
I like you! You can stay! Just to make me laugh (actually did, out loud, to the point where I had to share with DH in a fit of giggles what I was laughing at!:rotfl:)"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Nothing much of a TTC value to add. Don't really know what's going on, and any theory I come up with is likely to be BS lol. Jumping DH regularly seems to be the way forwardHopefully our new bed saga (ordered one, a "cancelled special" which was supposed to be as new, came really damaged, over a week ago, and still not got it sorted) will be resolved soon so the BDing can be rather more comfortable and rather less squeeky!!
(Man, I hope my RL people who know about me on here don't track me down and read these posts!! and if they do I hope they have the good grace NEVER to mention them!! :rotfl:)
Been to see the urologist today and he wants to do some tests...particularly not looking forward to the camera scopeI wouldn't mind, but I think me and the consultant both know what it is (and that it's not curable, or particularly treatable, esp while TTC) but he has to do all these grim tests to rule out everything it's highly unlikely it is before he can officially diagnose what it is!

My AF is due Tuesday and my temps are looking good, so far  Not wishing to tempt fate, though... Oh, and my b00bs are sore and 'full' too which seems to be a good sign that I have ov'd from past cycles
