My scan was fine today, thanks for asking:)
Great thing about my doctor is that he's always so optimistic:p
Either that, or my eggies are really growing nicely:cool:

Next scan is Thursday (clinic closed on Good Friday).
Everything happens for a reason :)

    Afternoon Girlies,

Hope you are all well :)

I'm hoping I'm going to OV this week, according to Dr Google my fertile period is the 5 days from yesterday culminating on Friday. I'm going to have to investigate the temperature thing so that I can be a little more accurate. Not entirely sure I should be trusting Dr Google for such an important thing ... but BD'd yesterday and am plotting to pounce on DH tomorrow and Friday ;)

I've been wondering if I should be avoiding certain food stuffs? My Dr said that when (fingers crossed) I actually fall PG I should avoid tea, coffee, ibuprofen, soft cheeses, raw egg foods. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I can think of now.

Should I be targeting certain things that are good? I have a fairly good diet, lots of cooking from scratch and not too much processed foods etc. So far the only change I have made is to take Folic Acid.

I've got used to the idea of TTC now but feel that I don't really know what I am doing. I know the mechanics :rotfl: of how it all works but some of you REALLY know what you're talking about by the sounds of it :o

Thanks for reading my witterings

    Hi Icey

I've also picked up alot of info from here since joining - I think TTC and Pregnancy is an everyday learning exercise. I'm always finding out new methods and ideas!

Not really, avoid alcohol obviously, and cut out caffeine as much as possible (keep the choccies:D), but that's about it, for me anyway:p

You can drink grapefruit juice before ov (for a week), and pineapple juice after ov (for a week), but whether it's an old wives tale or not is debatable:D

People get pg on all sorts of diet, so don't worry too much:)

Just a quick one - haven't had a chance to read back yet.

Please could someone give me a week-by-week account of where one's cervix should be?! :D I know it's supposed to be high and soft and open during ov, and low and firm and open just before AF, but what about the rest of the time?

Mine is high and firm and closed at the moment, and I've no idea if that's good/bad/indifferent!

    Thanks :)

Hugs to all that need them - will go catch up now

    Hi all,

sorry to jump in (I haven't read back).
I wondered if you ladies (and sirs if any) could help. My husband and I have been lazily trying to conceive for the past 6 months and have come to the conclusion that the ‘stab-in-the-dark’ approach may not be so useful ;O). Anyway, now we have decided that we are committed to this baby making malarkey and I think we need some help?

Is there a 1stopshop for pointers? I have started using ovulation tests (I thought I was supposed to ovulate 14 days or so after the first day of my last period? I didn't and now I'm panicking that I do not ovulate). Do I use them every day? I am now 18 days or so past the first day of my last period (what a mouthful).

I hope this tongue in cheek post does not offend in anyway, we are just not sure what we should be doing to ensure a bullseye or what questions we should be asking or if indeed we should be banging down the door of our GP!

I've just been looking at the plan actually and you get a cash lump sum on the birth of a child, but there is a 12 month qualifying period. I am hoping that is a sure-fire way of getting a BFP in the next 3 months so I'm going to join.
    Who's the plan with?

    Hi All

Sorry never posted on here before but looking for some advice.

My OH and i are now trying for a baby, i came off the pill at the start of the year and bought some ovulation kits to try and work out when i ovulated as i have been on the pill for so long.

I ovulated last sat, we had sex on the Thursday and for the last week i have been feeling sick (not actually been sick) also had itchy nipples and very tired, however i took a test this morning (Superdrug early response or something) and it was negative, i am not due my period until this Fri or Sat - due you think there is still a chance i could be pregnant??
Still a chance, early testing though, you eager thing you :p Good luck with your trying :)

arggg my hormones have gone crazy over the last couple of days, I even managed to cry last night watching The Rugrats Movie (yes I was being childish) when Dil is born. I cried at a child's cartoon!!! Then cried this afternoon when some games I bought were cheaper than what I was expecting... what????? It doesn't even make sense.
I burst into tears tonight when DH said we could go watch a DVD in bed! :o So, you're not on your own ;)
Good luck with the not-quite-proposal ;)

As a relative newbie can I pipe up about the announcements without prior posts? I can completely understand that this isn't what people want to hear if TTC for a while and it breaks your heart a bit everytime it doesn't work out, but in the post the lady did say about things she had been using (which I hadn't heard of) to help TTCing so in that respect was a bit helpful.

I think if I had been thinking about joining th thread and seen how upset people got prior to joining it may have put me off a little bit as I wouldn't want to upset anyone or feel like I had been disrespectful and maybe would feel a bit intimidated if just reading the final pages and seeing that. I can definitely see both sides of the story though (slopes back off into the corner)

Didn't lose any weight this week, but chuffed with that due to binges last week (medicinal ones though, honest!)

Happy BDing everyone, hopefully will see some more BFPs shortly:)
I'd've felt the same I think Gemma :o
I reckon not putting on again, when dieting, is half the battle, so give yourself a pat on the back! :D

GG[/] I hope you don't stop posting/reading, I feel for you. How is the Provera treating you?

BigZippy Thanks for trying to understand where i might be coming from, when i was just to excited to express myself properly and with sensitivity. I've just popped back to apologise again to anyone i upset with my poor choice of words. Its a bit horse- door- bolted-after, but i've gone back and edited my post to say that i might have got very very lucky. To maybe explain (but not excuse myself), i have been watching the thread since end of last year whilst preparing to start TTC, with BBT tracking, Ov testing, working up my cycle etc, but didnt really think i could join in, as DH and i werent ACTUALLY DTD properly to try, so not really TTC. But i've felt for many of you whilst you were trying to find your Ov days, getting back into cycle after the pill etc, as i was really struggling myself and just not getting any +ve results on the ovp front. So kind of feels a bit like i have been through the TTC mill for 6 months, although i know its not the same.

Anyway, i apologise again, and keep my fingers crossed for everyone. I've not had anything other than a vfp on the tests, so no more certain that i am pg than i was before..
    K
Thanks for coming back Kira, and for re-explaining. :) I hope you get the answers you want/need soon. How many DPO are you? Have you tried any other brands or a Clear Blue Digi, with the conception indicator? It might put your mind at rest?

I'm with HSF through my DH's work. We've been with them for a while now. When we have a baby, we get £1000! :T:T:T

Will come in very handy indeed!
