    NG have you tested again?

We've had some sad news - BIL and his wife have found out at their 20wk scan that there baby will not survive :( It's so sad and really puts things into perspective.

    xx

Sorry to hear that Emsbet. It just goes to show that the TTCing isn't the only hard bit!! I do worry about such things a bit as I'm not sure how DH (and MIL!) would cope with anything bad happening!

Haven't read back yet but I need to have a moan - I'm really sorry as I feel like lately all I do is moan here.

I confided to our PA at work about my smear results and that I needed further tests etc as she had literally just been through the same thing. I made it very, very clear to her though that I did not want anyone else to know about it. After my hospital appointment I called in sick the next day (as I was still in some discomfort) and she asked me whether I wanted her to let the head of the deperment know (who is a man). I said no and once again told her that I did not want anyone else knowing.

This morning I come into work and she asks me how I am (which is very nice). She then proceeds to tell me that she ignored my wishes and told the head of the depertment why I was off.

I am absolutely furious with her. First of all I am uncomfortable with the people I work with knowing my personal business. I only confided in her as I knew she had recently been through the same and in my opinion I made it extremely clear to her that she was not to tell anyone. What on earth made her thing it was ok to tell the head of the department???

    Rant over.

Have given up trying to multi-quote

Bigzippy – thanks for your message and first of all congratulations on your weight loss :). I’ll ask for a GTT at my next appointment I think. When I say symptoms have got worse I mean that I’ve found in the past maybe 3 weeks that I feel strange (getting weak, dizzy, blurred vision more frequently) more often than I did before. It’s made me wonder if the Metformin has had a negative effect on my sugar levels. I’m still trying to understand all this but if I’m right to say that insulin resistance makes you hyper and the Metformin tries to reduce that to make you more stable I’m wondering if I actually don’t need it and it’s making my hypo. But the fact that my periods started after taking the Metformin makes me think that I obviously did need to take it. Oh I don’t know – it’s all a bit confusing.

    P.S. Enjoy your drink!

    Sexymouse – Happy birthday :j

Lisa – Hugs – sorry you’re feeling down in the dumps x

    Goppers – Wohoo it’s Friday!!!!!!

Emsbet – Oh no, that’s really sad news. It’s such a shame :(.

    Fannyanna,
I can see why you are cross... its horrible thinking people might be talking about you. However, you never know, your HoD may have made some comment about you being off, and she could have said something to stick up for you. It happened recently with me, when my HoD made a comment about me not seeming to be around much, and my boss (who knew about my PG) tried to stick up for me. Its up to you how you handle it- you could leave it, but you might find it a bit easier going forward if you clear the air? Maybe something like " I was a bit embarrassed that you told the HoD why i was off, i didnt really want him to know, and it might have been better coming from me if he needed to know". See what she says, she might explain why, or at least apologise. I doubt she did it to be nasty, probably more cos she thought it would help you in some way, but just didnt think it through!

I think you are handling everything really well BTW, you are doing great!

Oh I know she will have done it meaning well and I'm too much of a chicken to say something. I like to avoid conflict where possible. I'm just going to leave it and take it as a lesson learnt - do not tell her something that I don't want anyone else to know :)

Better still wait til the HOD speaks to you and asks if your ok. And then tell him you had told her as she had the same thing! Tit for tat!

Terrible about the 20 week scan!!! :( So sorry.
