This was QQ's explaination on the use of OPKs that I copied a while ago
"You should test once a day, in the afternoon, after holding the pee by not drinking for 3hrs. I do it before I go to bed. When the lines starts to get darker, test 3 times a day incl FMU (first morning urine)."

You should start testing maybe around CD10. When you get a line as dark (or darker) than control it's time to start BDing (although it can't hurt to start every other day as soon as you get a faint line! ;) )

xx
Great minds emsbet ;)

Speaking of all that though, did anyone else order the Tommy's book that (is free and) lays out clearly all TTC info and such? I was reading it last night...

Emsbet - reading your post I know you're not getting your hopes up (and in the same position as you I'd be doing the same thing) but I am very hopeful for you and I'm sure everyone else is x x x

Hopefully you'll find out either way sooner rather than later!

Oh yes! We are both monster brains! ;)

I ordered the book and I also ordered the guide to pregnancy book. The TTC one is good. I did have a little look at the pregnancy one last week but I have put it away again for the time being :(
But it is good and it's free! I'd recommend them both to everyone.

Pralines, if we don't post/chat will you carry on? I need entertaining! :p - I am not a performing Seal you know:rotfl:

Gosh all these people indoors - i've thunder and lightening here:(. I wish I was at home. Indoors. Legs akimbo:p

OPK's - this whole 3 hours holding urine thing was a bit of an issue, but was easily resolved... I generally leave work around 5/6 and it takes an hour to an hour and a half to get home plus I rarely drink tea after 4 so it gives enough time. This month I just tested every day (even when still on period) as I had never had an OPK.

Wouldn't go that far... but I'd like to think I'd retained *something* in the 6months I've seen QQ say the same thing LOL

I did the same...for, you know...just in case ;)

Nah, just for that, you can bog off....:p Put up your feet. Get settled in with a drink of choice (I'd say brew, but I don't like them, and I refuse to bow to the masses who do ;)) and a choccy biccie. Doctors orders :p

I had mentioned not having sperm on tap! I thought that was a dead give away!! Obviously nobody reads my posts

As bigzippy and QQ said, I assumed hubby must work away etc. Honest! :) I guess everyone has hurdles, and thsy're especially tough for you and your DW. Hope the whole process doesn't slow you down too much :)
Oh and I have more questions about insemination, but fear I may be overstepping a bit. :o
:rotfl: Laughing at euronorris asking all the questions that we're all secretly thinking :rotfl:

Welcome back Praline - enjoying your posts. I bet you talk 100 miles an hour! :p

Oh I've no chance of holding my pee that long - I was just spouting the party line! :rotfl:
I do mine with FMU. It's the only time I get to hold my pee for more than about 45mins!!:rotfl:
And QQ said it was ok...so it must be true ;) (still never got a +ive though...and I'm not bothering this cycle, cba)

I did find it quite tricky too. I found it easier to do on a weekend. I tried doing the same as you and not going until I got home from work but I have this little voice in my head that panics that I have to get on the train back home and what if the train broke down and I was stuck for ages not able to go to the loo! And believe me with Northern rail that's always a possibiliy! ;)
