Trying for a Baby Part Six

Feeling really down lately, not only do I not have my baby anymore but I don't seem to have my fertility either! pregnancy all around me at the moment too which doesn't help, even the adverts on telly are full of babies!!!
It took 4 months last time, it may take similar time again, but it will definitely happen, and you'll be a mum again next year. Hang in there:o0 -
Hi all, hugs to MrsE but glad you feel able to get straight back to it.
Thanks for the comments on the cake. DH thinks I should make them to sell too so I'm going to practice doing different styles and see how it goes. It would be a good way of making a bit of cash of my own if I don't go back to work once we have a baby!!! That cake would have cost me £1500 if I had it made by the designer who's design I adapted!!! I did it for £200 but obviously the time involved is where the price comes from.....it took me 6 months although I was working full time too!!
So, CD 28 here but who knows what length my cycle should be now I'm off the pill!! I don't feel like AF is on her way anytime soon though, when on the pill she'd have been arriving tommorrow.0 -
Mrs E, Im so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs hun. xx0

I'm so sorry for your loss MrsE
I know this is belated as well but I'm sorry the IVF didn't work out QQ. Glad you've got your pma still though. I have heard good things about chinese medicine so maybe another round of IVF won't be necessary.
Congratulations on the wedding lisa. The cake was lovely. I am well impressed!
I really need to read back, I have had an amazingly busy few days. Hope everyone is ok though

Sorry to hear your news MrsE, thinking of you xx
AF has arrived for me today, I knew it was on its way when I got the pains 4 days before so no surprise but still a bit gutting.
I have done a bit of nosing and it seems my chances are 1-2% per cycle which was an eye opener, didn't realise it would be so low.
This has got me thinking, should we keep trying as it's still a possibility or knock it on the head. even as things stand now, I'll be 44 if I catch and with every month that passes I'm getting older and my eggies are poorer quality.0 -
I'm feeling a bit confused. I had a faint line on my opk Sunday lunchtime which got darker when I tested again later in the day (although still not as dark as the control line). Yesterday when I tested I had the same- dark but not as dark as the control line. Today I tested and there's nothing now. What does this mean? I think I didn't go to the loo for three hours but did forget and have a drink- could this have affected the result? I have also had to go to the loo a lot today- would this affect it?
Sorry if I'm being a pain asking lots of silly questions

Well, to me it sounds like the day before yesterday was OV with max fertility, and yesterday was the day after, when still very fertile but waning. Now the OV peak has passed, the lines disappear with the hormone. If you get BDing like mad today and tomorrow, you can still have a few more bites of the cherry, as the egg will now be descending the tubes, so your OH's little wigglers can still make it in time!
I'd mark down the dates for this month, and work out when the equivalent would be next month, and then start your fertile days for BD'ing about 4 days before the OV date, as the wigglers will survive a few days waiting for eggy to arrive!

Thanks for the response.
I did wonder if this is what that meant but as today is only CD13 I didn't think that was possible as last months cycles was 35 days (although I'm aware my cycles are probably still settling down)
We have BD'd so far this month on CD6, 9, 10, 12 and 13 (today) so hopefully if your prediction is right we have plenty of the little guys swimming around! Will keep on it though.
I didn't think that the hormone the OPKs detect was that short living - I had it in my head that it is still produced after ov and continues if pg for a short while? Maybe I made that up - been reading so much it's hard to remember what's what sometimes!
My temps are of no use as I've had up and down nights with me not sleeping well for a lot of them and drinking a couple of nights.
Hmmm who knows. I will maybe do another test before bed and I guess it's just keep on BDing and wait and see.

It might just be that your luteal phase is non standard in length regardless of cycle length, so you could be Ov'ing earlier than you thought. It took me a while to find my OV as my LP was shorter than average, so i was testing the week before and kept missing it as it was actually a week later.! Yours could be a bit longer than standard, and so coming earlier than you thought. Not necessarily a problem, as you say your cycle is probably just settling down
.
With the OPK's for me at least, my line started to appear very faintly in the 3-4 days run up to OV, and lasted till the day after. Not always, but i often felt the OV pains on the penultimate day of lines. From my reading up and my Pink Pad android tracking app, my fertility gradually increased from the day of first faint line, peaking on OV day, and then tailing off the day after, which is when my lines disappeared. The month i got my BFP, i did test for OV after my "peak days", but the lines had gone, at least on the tests i was using.
