I often think that, some people get loads from complaining - free tickets, free meals, vouchers etc!!

well done on your OPs they are soon mounting up arent they?

  • Iris - remember and mention it to the MW. being pregnant the new baba is a big part of your life and diary so you have to mention it.

Complaining is a good idea, I now someone who works for tesco and the 'compensation' for finding an elastoplast (blue) in you net of sprouts is about £25. He works in the letter centre place and the computer decides apparently. I guess other supermarkets are the same.

  • Iris - you are entitled to a little moan. I would say, get your bag packed, and then that is one less thing on your mind. And concentrate on having one place ready where you want to give birth. You have so much going on the stress is definitely going to get to you at points.

I was also going to say, the small age gap and having so many responsibilities probably doesn't help the bonding as it removes the time available. I felt like that with DS2 a bit, so much so i paid to have a 4d scan done because i just felt i had not thought about him enough. It was more how DS1 was reacting, how tired i was, how we were being affected. There are only so many hours in the day after all. Don't give yourself another reason to worry though.

Chill time and a bit more sleep prescribed from me. Hope you feel better this evening. x

    Today's little update...

I'm up again as I can't drift off to sleep at the moment but at least I've chilled a little today and got around to packing my "just in case" hospital bag so at least that is out of the way. 2 more internal doors are on, only 3 to go now and I assembled a new wood laundry bin so at least I did something useful.

You're right Michelle. I do wish that I'd had the 4d scan this time, we could afford it but i was being tight so we could pay off some bills and now I feel I havent bonded as much. I want to see his little face to see if he looks like DH. :)

I'm also worried about where Im going to give birth as DD shares our room and I was going to have him downstairs but now we have cream carpets *rolls eyes*...need I say more?! :D I know it always works out in the end though.

I've decided to get the travel cot out and try and get DD to sleep in it for a daytime nap (im sure she will) then if I do go into labour at night I can put her in it downstairs.

LP - Oh very interesting. I found a live slug when I was pregnant last year in my tin of peas from Mr T's and only got £5 ! :(The awful thing was I didn't see it attached to the inside of the tin until after we had dinner.

I've been very busy today with painting and a midwives appointment plus whilst I was out and about I popped into Mr.L's for some cheese and spend £43.54...not all on cheese though. It's not too bad seeing as I stocked up on some good offers on food that I can store away for the coming months.

I've just popped online to make my 8th OP of the month, small but still significant ! :) : £3.37 which consists of:

    £3.00 LV from P cone
£0.37p left over from last weeks £100 shopping budget

    Total OP's for September : £190.64

The interest rate for this month looks to have come down from £8.63 pd to £8.56 so a tiny improvement there. Still extremely high though !

    Morning Iris :)

My children (and DH) all had a vomiting/ diarrhoea (SP? - doesn't look right!) bug last week. There's a lovely one going around here :( Thankfully I escaped!

Glad you are feeling more positive and have got the j-i-c bag packed :) Well done on the OPing!

I tried to find out teh flavours on all of mine. With DD it was policy not to tell you at the scan. DS1 had his legs crossed so couldn't see (policy had changed) DS2 they thought was a girl at 20weeks. 3D scan at 26 weeks showed he was a boy. DS3 I had a CVS at 12 weeks (1:47 chance of Downs) so I found out very early. I was glad to find out with DS2 &3 as I wanted girls and needed the time to get used to it and bond with them. I have to say that my tiny 2 are gorgeous! (not that I'm biased!! :D)

Hope they are all fully recovered now Greent and I hope they didn't cause too much washing for you! :) Poor DH having it when he was at home too and not working away...he could have been doing DIY for you instead of being sick :rotfl:

I bet you was shocked about ds2 turning out to be a boy at your later scan. I found out the flavour with no2,3,4..( all boys )and no5 , my girl but I didn't so until she was born, even after having NHS scans and a 4d one. Shes my angel. :)

I didn't have the blood tests for the downs this time, decided not too after being told last time that I would get a recall due to my age.I'm 37 but don't tell anyone! :D I didn't get recalled but spent that time worrying. 1:47 is still a good rate though isn't it? My bosses was 1:16 which seems shocking really until she said to me that if she had 16 babies that maybe one of them could be born with DS. It's a scary time though all that testing you go through.

thanks re the Op's. I've been paid today but my maternity pay was lower this month than I expected. Its ALWAYS different! So no OP to come from that payment! Hmmm need to have a scout about for some more to OP as I want to get to about £500 ish in Op's this month...I'm on a mission

  • Hey!
God I'm so broody and everyone is pregnant :) It makes me so excited talking about all this! I had a 4D scan with my little girl but it didn't work very well and didn't really see her despite about an hour and a couple of walks/ drinks etc. Not sure if I would have another as at the time I was emotional and it made me upset!
I am posting and going to subscribe so I can keep up, I'm so rubbish finding time to keep up with diaries, I have to keep starting from the beginnings again to catch up!
Good luck with all your overpayments, Jo

Hi Jo, thanks for stopping by and for your encouragement. :)

I'm getting scared of pushing this baby out ! Where IS the time going?! Why does it go fast when you want to delay things?

I went for my Midwife visit on Monday which went ok, only seen them 5 times since I got pregnant but that suits me. I've been getting pains now for 5 days some of them make me stop doing what I'm doing as they take my breathe away...(So that's what that song was all about! :) ) I've never had it before.

I really feel that I won't go overdue this time. I was 14 days over with DD (no5) but we think that was because she was a smaller weight than the boys and she was bouncing in and out of my pelvis..who knows!

Anyway We'll all know soon enough wont we :)

Spends : We've now painted DS1's room, had the carpet laid today and HAD to buy him a new bed and mattress, so another £220 spent there with £3 cashback. It's coming tomorrow. He's sleeping on the floor tonight poor thing.

Total spent so far on DIY alone : £314.58
House spends including carpets, soft furnishings etc : £1028.60  ...Just realised I spent some more money today on some gorgeous Sia Moroccan style vase /tealight holders today which I've not accounted for... only £100 and *mumbles* but I just had to get them as they are so nice and ....:rotfl: why am I justifying myself here! :)

And the month isn't over yet. Just think if I wasn't putting my house on the market than HOW MUCH I could have Op'd this month

Now this bit is bad, really bad. I do have a overpayment to add one that Im please about but I'll leave it until tomorrow as I'm not in the mood tonight ( I must be ill) and I can't be bothered sending any money to the mortgage acc and working it out.
What's wrong with me?! I think it's because I'm doing so much and not sleeping too well due to being a heifer and having terrible heartburn. We all forget the irritating things that pregnancy brings dont we!

    Until tomorrow...

    Iris
