Just caught up after a weekend away
We have 2 cars, even though I'm a SAHM nowadays. I wouldn't be without mine, I have to say (I have a golf plus, DH has a Ford Galaxy - we need a car that size when all of us are together!) It's going in for it's first ever service next week and has about 3k on the clock! As you can see, I don't do much mileage....!!
However, SPD in my last 2 pregnancies has left me with some hanging around hip/ pelvis problems. Combine that with a bad back from pranging my car years ago and some days it hurts to walk far - and I can't walk very fast. (And I'm lazy.....)
Anyway, getting excited about OPing is the norm around here!I'm looking forward to phoning C&G tomorrow for my updated balance (not available online and they don't like giving it to you on the day your payment goes through!)

You're now saving 86p a day ..that's actually a big daily saving. Well done you! ..the price of a bag of chips? ...why is it all my interest calculations seem to be matched against food!
Hi Iris...loving the food comparisonsHouse wise...Well the new lounge and stairs and landing carpets are down, lovely ivory colour ..yes I know already it's not entirely practical with 5 children but it looks nice !
Ivory and children...I dont think I've seen those words in the same sentence0 -
Just a quick update as I'm tired tonight.
Managed a little OP... which I couldn't wait to send across to the mortgage...itchy fingers and all that...£2.96 from Fcheese . making my OP's for September so far : £52.02 - not bad to say it's only the 2nd of Sept.
Spends...Boo...! We went to Ikea today, not been for years and years and spent £92 on a cream rug, which looks very expensive and its lovely underfoot , 2 bathmats and some wood clothes hangers. Wish we could have spent more time there but as OH had to get to work, we was in and out in a hour...I know how DID we do that!!! Our spends are way above the OP's at the moment due to doing the house up. I really want to hit my signature target though if possible. At the end of the month I will work out how much we've spent on DIY etc...if I dare. Depressing thought that.
Thanks Greent , I will try and rest. We're both so tired at the moment but I want to get the house done for the EA's photographs whilst the gardens so green. You know whats it like though with children , it's hard to rest as you're use to getting up out of the chair so much. My feet are very swollen though today and I've been getting pains - I know I need to slow down.
Hope your anniversary weekend was a good one. I'll catch up on your thread soon.
SSL - Oh tell me about it..! I'm like a possessed banshee shouting out "Take your shoes off!" as soon as they walk in the door!
I said a quick one didn't I..!?
Oh well..on that note bedtime for me..I was just getting into typing as well.

Another OP as I couldn't wait...
£ 2.97 collected from our penny jar
£10.25 from BB scratchie
total Op for September: £65.24I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
IB - you make me laugh... I may be making big overpayments at the moment, but that's only possible thanks to all my little penny-pinching habits. This evening when shopping in Sainsbury's, I saw bread rolls reduced from 79p to 20p a bag. Now I have a freezer drawer full of the things - and I made a note of the money I've saved in my record of food receipts... :rotfl: Actually, I think it's time for a laugh on my thread, so my next post will detail some of my 'notional' MFW savings - the little ones help me make the big ones, IYSWIM..:D

QB - Aww are you laughing at me, now I feel all embarrassed at my op's compared to yours!:o Lol... You do remarkable. I'm impressed.
Im itching to get paid on the 15th and OH gets paid at the end of the month so payments may be larger then depending on DIY outgoings. I have a lot of bits coming in here and there but I really can't wait at the moment for them to mount up hence the little Op's.:D I'm a eager beaver aren't I?!
P.s I'm glad someone else is still up and on here on a Friday night!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Don't knock the small payments. Aren't i proving that if you do that you get results. I'm here as always on a Friday night. Disappearing soon though as the kids were up stupidly early this morning and i am sure they will do the same tomorrow.0

Well you are the reason I'm here Michelle and I mean that. I don't know how I found your diary when I did or why I did but I like your honesty and the fact you do so well to provide for your family and make OP's as a SAHM. Paying any money at all off a mortgage is totally unheard of where I live, unless there's some unspoken rule that I just don't know about.
I'm enjoying my little op's at the moment
I wanted to ask but it hasn't been the right time this week... I use to read LB's thread but never posted. I hope she hasn't left due to the last comment. I hope she'll post again.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Nice to see a new MFW thread.
How old are your children? Boys/Girls?
Good luck with the house on the market.
It is definitely all the little things we do that make up the OPs we make. I do silly things like walk to the shops with my granny trolley instead of driving, but is probably only saving me £1 or £2 here and there but it all mounts up and its healthy walking (even if the kids dont like it!)
I also keep most change under £1 and sometimes £1 coins. I also do £2 tube which I have had £100 banked already, this is going towards xmas. I can imagine what your xmas day is like in your household. My sister has 5 boys. (they are all older now though)MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
EMFD was Feb 32  NOW Dec 2013 its Dec 2016
MF new target Dec 16 REACHED!! :j0
