Am I right in thinking that you was a Science teacher?
DS2 has just enrolled at college, he went to do accountancy and came back booked on a teaching course and science ! I'm not happy about it TBH , the teaching bit not the science, as I really don't think he's the teaching type. He hates school for one and the teachers too!...but then again..don't all teenagersI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Thanks Stacey, it's lovely to know that people are actually taking time to read this and I'm not just talking to myself..and Michelle :rotfl: ..however lovely she is.
I always wanted... a diary when I was a young girl and I actually had one for a few weeks ... until we went on holiday and I hid it in the apartment. My Mum's husband found it and ..obviously read it. Oh the shame ! :rotfl: Not that it actually said much with me being 12 years old but it put me off diary writing for life... well until now...but rest assured I will NOT be sharing my most intimate thoughts with this forum, but if I waffle I'm simply making up for lost timeI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Hello Iris, just popped in to say hi really - it sounds like you're off to a great start, well done!! QB0

Hello QB and thanks for your support.
What a beautiful day it is today !
Washing is in the machine and I'm *cough* raring to go with the DIY. Oh and his dad got lots of painting done yesterday, the house is looking so much fresher but still needs the skirting boards finishing before the carpets go down Tues/Wednesday. The boys finished staining the top of the garden decking and it looks lovely. I'm hoping to market the house in about 3 weeks now if not before. I can't wait.
I think I will go outside in the garden and paint the garden bench this morning. I bought some Garden shades paint in a lovely Iris blue colour but looking at the receipt it's £20 a tin  so it can go back and it can be coated in good old white gloss instead which we have lots of left over. Very MSE !
I have a spending confession...I'm a little excited about something I bought last week that I really shouldn't have but it fairness I needed ...and it's being delivered tomorrow. It's one of those Tef*l Activfry machines and I can't wait to try it out. It was a bargain though with £100 off and it came with 2 free Tef*l frying pans worth £51 that I'm putting away to use in the new house . I used TCB and got £6 cashback. So all in all a bargain...just realised that I've told you all i'm excited about a chip pan...I really need to get out more.:)

I have read through the start of your diary, I like being able to follow them through from the start. I am OPing our mortgage to be able to move house too. The bigger deposit we can put against a new house the better.
I am looking forward to watching your progress.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1931.07/£2700

Hi Iris,
Will be following your diary. I too have my mortgage with Halifax and it never matches up but i just alter it each month, it's never by much.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Yup - i am science for my sins, as is Twinklie. Seems a weird thing to be doing if he wanted to do accountancy. If it is not his thing surely he will just end up dropping out. Weird.
Oh- my sister has one of the Tefal things and she loves it. Let us know how you get on.0 -
Hi AJ - Thanks. I too like to read the MFW diary's from the start and get a bit of background..wish I had time to read them all. Good luck in paying off a chunk of your mortgage. Fingers crossed that we get the houses that we want.
Hi Cath , Thanks and thank you for reading. I don't know why I was bothered about 50 odd pence not matching but I do like to get things right ..especially when it comes to money!
I think he was pushed into it when he enrolled Michelle. He is good at science but he's a typical teenager and if he feels that he's been treated wrongly then he can have an attitude. Hopefully he will grow out of it. Typical teen. Apparently he'll go to a primary school on day release for 9 weeks then actually teach a class for a lesson ! Don't they know he's my baby and he's not just not old enough to do all that yet
Just a quick catch up... as my body is aching with doing so much today...Whilst OH has been at work, I've sanded, painted the skirting boards and french doors in the lounge, brushed, washed, fed and changed the baby and the boys (fed them not changed them! :rotfl: ) and popped to B&* for some fence paint whilst it's still on offer and got a refund for the other paint. I've done far too much really but I can't sit still, I never can. My body will pay for it tomorrow...if i feel like this now I can't wait to start nesting , just think how much I could get done then!

Mortgage news...Well today I've had the 1st OP of september hitting the mortgage account.
various little amounts including:
£1.13 interest A&L
£1.75 Fcheese
£3.63 TCB
and a few other bits of pieces like refunds, Pcone vouchers etc that I've squirelled away.
Grand total £49.06.
House wise...Well the new lounge and stairs and landing carpets are down, lovely ivory colour ..yes I know already it's not entirely practical with 5 children but it looks nice !
I must admit I looked at my house today and thought it's truly gorgeous and I love it,both inside and out. It will be a shame to leave it but moving is the right thing to do plus we need more bedrooms. It will also be nice for me and OH to buy a home together as this was my house and he feels that it still is my house even though he half owns it.
With me due to give birth in 5 weeks I'm anxious to get the house marketed by the 13th of this month, I don't know how feasible but I'm going to give it my best shot.
The 2 younger boys are back at school tomorrow and the older ones at college so me and the little lady will have the house to ourselves and I'm really looking forward to some piece and quiet ...before the baby arrives :j
