Iris - DD1 did something similar 1st night she was born. They said it was probably mucus because she wasn't in the birth canal long and it hadn't been squeezed out. Never happened again but it was bloody terrifying.

Glad he is all ok. I like Rocco.

  • Wowser. maybe he is there to show you that you haven't seen it all yet. My friends little one has something called TOFs which is where the muscles in the oesophagus aren't stretchy enough to let the milk go down and that causes choking. She regularly has to go through that, although less now the baby has had lots of operations and a bit bigger so not growing as fast.

I hope it is a one off in your case.

Love the name. There won't be loads with that one at school will there. :D

    Thank you all.

He seems fine now since it happened and is a lot more alert. No wonder he was asleep so much and not feeding much if he felt so ill. I don't think it was mucus as he didn't sound mucusy and it wasn't thick /stringy like that but i suppose we'll never know.I'm just glad its over

Thanks re the name,I know its unusual and not everyone's taste but we wanted a strong name that other boys aren't called at school. I am getting mixed reactions when I say it but oh well..you can't please everyone.

apologies if my typing doesn't make sense, i keep reading back and changing it...I'm so tired now.

It is a lovely name - as cha97michelle said - at least he'll be an individual at school - there were 3 of 'me' in my primary school class - would love to have had a more unusual name.

Sorry to hear the last few days have been scary - I am sure he is more than worth the trouble though! Glad to hear things have settled down! x

I really love the name, Its so hard to choose a name for someone for the rest of their lives. He will probably be the only Rocco in the whole school which is a good thing. I hate my daughter being known by her first name and surname initial. Naming school things wont be a problem either lol. Although saying that my kids surnames are very unusual as their grandad was from Malta!

Wow scary night tho. I remember my eldest having convulsions from about 2-4 years old, that was so scary when he used to have them. Kids are sent to try us arent they, and boy do they!!

    Hi all,

We are doing well thankyou. :)

Baby now weighs 8lb and 4oz and has a little chubby face already. He's feeding every 2 hours or so at night so I'm trying to turn that around so he sleeps more at night than during the day. His big sister was a little wary of him at first but now seems to be loving him and kisses his little head..she's only 14 months though so her kisses are little too loving sometimes.

I'm doing well and am back too normal although a little tired. I will be glad to get rid of the cabbage leaves in my bra ! ..You forget about the little things like that after having a baby! :rotfl: I was very MSE though and bought 2 for £1 instead of 1 for 70p ! :D:money:

My OH is off all week so I won't be on much at the moment until things settle down so I fully intend to catch up on other diaries when he is back at work...don't talk too much please!
