The problem is before that point but you dont see it till you get to that point - when you put in the amount of adults / children you want it will say error in page - if you get that then it has timed out

At this point the browser makes a call to the Harrods server to check availability, however their servers cant handle the requests and they timeout.. They need to either sort out the bottle neck at their end, or throw more servers at it - failing that wait until demand drops, in which case we can start booking again.

I think everyone should give up for 5 mins (so i can book) :)
  • I tried for 6 hours, gave up and then came on mse where someone had kindly posted a direct link to the booking page and I booked no problem. This was after Harrods had pulled down the service for on-line due to the huge fiasco that had built up all day!
  • Last year when I did eventually get through they sent me an email to refund my debit card the £5 because of inconvenience caused - but it didn't make much difference to me because if the £5 is on the privilage card you still get to spend it.

Oh Bum Bums that means I will have to keep going back and starting all over again.

One consolation we are all in the same boat.
  • Oh for goodness sake, this is getting pathetic now!

We don't arrive into London until the 23rd and hubby says it would be madness to get the train from his folks down to London on Xmas Eve so I'm gutted as I've never been in London at Xmas.

So on a side note, don't suppose anyone knows when Bluewater open the reservations for their grotto as that would be handier to us?
