Went on Monday and grandkids loved it. Tinkerbell making them an honourary fairy was brilliant. We opted for the 2gb memory stick with the photo on for £15 as we have to travel home and they get squished. Now we can have as many as we like!!!
  • Can I be the only person who thought that it was not very good. There was no magic to it. No grotto Did not see tinkerbell or anyone else. Just queued in a corridor.
Went in to see Father Christmas who talked for a minute or two and then we came out. Everybody dashing to buy photos. Certainly will not go again. Will try Selfridges next year.

I agree. We basically queued up for an hour in a corridor (and my kids could see Santas 'dark beard' under the white one!). The highlight for the kids was going to see the pets in pet corner afterwards. Also, the £5 reward voucher cannot be used against purchases of the photos or memory stick.

We did Selfridges last year and there was a grotto and a little train which I personally thought gave it a more special feel. Not sure if it is the same there this year.

Also, we weren't asked for ID.

I also thought it was pants! Have been every year since my first of three children was born but won't be bothering again. it used to be magical with helpers dressed up with trays of gingerbread, sweets and bottles of water/juice (all free) whilst you waited in the queue. It made it all seem more 'real' and the kids loved it. now the queue is boring and the santa's don't look at all real. Very disappointing. we tried Selfridges one year and I didn't like that so next year we might just do Bluewater or something like that/ i'd love to do the real lapland but I think that's out of reach!!!
  • I took my son on Monday and have to say I agree with the people who have said that the queueing part isn't very magical. The Santa we saw was brilliant though, he was very enthusiastic and spent quite a while chatting to my son and me too. He even produced the book, coin and badges from inside his cloak much to my sons amazement. The characters who were there at the end were all a bit busy chatting to people they knew to talk to my son which was a little annoying put he was so happy with his chocolate coin he wasn't bothered. Only other issue is the fact that my photo has the photographers finger in it and I only noticed when I put it up on my book case!

I have to agree. This was our first visit to Santa at Harrods and what a dissapointment it was. My 7 year old son asked me when we were in the queue 'Mummy, is this supposed to be the magical bit'!!! He then informed me after we had been in to see Santa that he wasnlt the real one because he could see the velcro holding his beard on!! To be honest, our local garden centre provide a much more magical experience. ALthough the tickets were free it proved to be an expensive trip to London just for this experience. Won't be going again.
