  • Wow! That was soooo much easier than last year. Just logged on and withint minutes I had booked my tickets. Loads of spaces left especially during the week - I didn't want the weekend as it's manic in my house then.

    Very happy. :j

Well i think i managed to get one of the last spots on a weekend day in December, i would prefer to go in the week but would mean taking my daughter out of school for a day and then her daddy couldn't come either as he is about to start a new job so not a good idea to go booking days off already without knowing whats going on.

But i have to say £5 is a bargain although i hate London and i know it will be so busy i might freak out :P but what we do for our kids huh ;) my daughter is only 4 so i know she will love it
  • So, the only thing we pay is the £5 booking fee? Do we pay anything when we get there or is it free? Also what if not everyone from my booking cant make it but some of us do, do we till get the £5 bookin fee back? Thanks x

From what i understand they credit the booking fee onto a store card for you to spend instore, so really your not paying anything. They just hope you will buy some xmas pressies while u are there :P

Its free when you get there and the £5 is redeemable (they should send you out a harrods rewards card with £5 credit on it to spend in store - not in the grotto though) I think they only charge this as people were selling tickets on ebay. i dont think you get the booking fee back because its £5 per booking so even if one person goes, you've completed the booking. If you need less tickets its good to edit it online so others have the chance to go who may have missed out.

Tip for anyone not being able to book large numbers - i tried to book 8 tickets, couldnt BUT was able to book 2 x 4 tickets on two different accounts for the same time and date

  • Finally managed to get through, but only Saturday I could get for the timeslot I wanted is 13 November but I'm happy with that and so are my friends that are coming with us.

My daughter is delighted and I suppose as a bonus in general the shop should be less busy in November than in December, so wont have to queue for so long when doing christmas shopping :-)
  • I was trying at work from 9am til 12.45 with no luck on the website. Asked my sister to try and she got as far as the date and it crashed. I got through to how many adults and kids then it said cannot do the time and then the drop down went to zero adults zero kids. Tried phoning, but message or engaged. Came home at 1.30pm, logged on and managed to book for Sunday 5th December at 5.30pm, a bit late but was willing to take anything. It had become a mission by then!!!

My 4 year old daughter watched me going crazy at the computer and kicking the printer, came over, gave me a big cuddle and told me it'd be all right. I was going to leave it as a surprise, but told her and she was over the moon as it'd be her first time seeing the Harrod's Santa.

Booked for us and friends to go. Now a very happy Mummy!
  • I'd love to take our little girl to see Santa at Harrods but my fella is being a right scrooge and says we can't afford a trip to London! Boooooo!

Any ideas on how I can convince him that it's not going to be expensive are more than welcome!! :)
  • Just booked my tickets for 15th December at 8pm, tried this morning and website kept crashing, ive just done it and it was simples! i think they have had complaints and they have solved the issues my 4 little ones are going to love it!!!

Thats men for you lol... no I can understand it is expensive to travel in from far. Where abouts are you? If you are ordering in advance enough you might be able to get cheap train/national express? Cant imagine hotels would be cheap- also mid november might be better for you pricewise too, you know how they put the prices of everything up around crimbo.
    2014 wins-2 picnic hampers,Boxfresh goodies,foodie festival tickets,Polo event tickets,Kent airshow family ticket,£25 Nisa voucher,New Pines holiday for 6,meal for 6,fake tan and mitt,pickled beetroot,£50,£100 Mucky boots voucher.
Thanks and good luck to all! xx:beer::j:money::T
