    Very cute Bun

It was actually lovely but I was poorly on the way home - I don't travel well at the best of times and adding alcohol to the mix was not helpful:o

Eek not down that lovely dress I hope? Glad you had a good time in the end.

It is really hard the first time you let them go out 'alone' Bun and to be honest, it probably doesn't get any easier after that, but you just keep it inside you and pretend to be a really cool mum!

All my daughter's friends thought I was cool because I let them come round ours and chill out - gave them drinks and food (when I could afford it) let them sleep over about 9 or 10 of them at one time, but really it was because I would rather have my daughter at home where I knew where she was :o

I think it's good for kids to have a bit of independence like that, as long as they know what the rules are and what will happen if they don't stick to them.

I'm glad I gave my 2 some freedom when they were younger as now they have a lot of common sense when they go out, They both get themselves to and from school on public transport (just over 10 miles to school) and spend half their weekends travelling to different towns with groups of friends.

I agree Pooky, but also I was a single parent without a car, so couldn't go and get her if she stayed at friends late, which meant we either had to rely on the other parents to bring her home all the time - which must have !!!!ed them off or she had to get a taxi and that was expensive.

She did go out a lot and luckily for me hung around with a sensible crowd of kids, which is a big thing because it is when they get in with the 'wrong crowd' that the real problems begin!
