Ames - don't forget that you gather curtains, so they are wider than the window - you need at least 1/3 extra width to ensure they cover the window nicely.

    Stop lurking....

Just had my wheel nut removed by a nice man with a hammer!! and then another nice man hit my inner wheel bit with a hammer and then sealed the tyre rim....charged me a tenner but better than shelling out for a new tyre..bit of a result methinks....

    Can now visit me mother..:rotfl:

Ok now I feel daft! Now I understand why the shop didn't do curtains big enough even though it's a small window.

    The window's around 200cm by 130cm.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • You don't have to bank with them to get a card either Katsu. I have a membership and Divi card. You get divi when you buy there own products. I just forget to use them!

After converting into inches I think the smallest ones will fit. They're these by the way:

What drop do you want on the curtains or is the 130cm the most?

    Standard curtains sizes are 46 x 54, 66 x 54, 46 x 72, 66 x 72, 72 x 90 and 90 x 90 (some shops do bigger now too I think for patio windows) so you might have to go for 2 pairs of 46 x 54 to get a decent gather.

Oh scrap that - that link shows they do a 90 x 54 - that'll be your best bet.

The 130cm is from the top of the rollerblind that's on it now to just below the bottom of the window.

Are you sure it'd be a 90inch width I'd need, not a 46? If the window's about 79 inches wide then add a third it'd be about 95 so divide by two and it's about 47. So a 46 by 54 pair would fit?

    I'm confusing myself now lol.

I'm having a plum cooking session. Loads of them still in the fridge from my ex's house. Might as well let OH eat them in a pie, normally I batch stew and freeze them, but I would really like to get the freezer defrosted. Apparently there are tonnes of blackberries behind our classrooms so I may have to have a look after work tomorrow.

I normally do width and a half Ames rather than width and a third for curtains.

I was always taught that each width of curtain should fit your window on it's own (ideally) so that when they're drawn you've not got a flat sheet across your window.
