Whats wrong with that, as long as there is genuinely space for 3 lanes? As long as everyone is paying attention then they can make plenty of space...
Then what do they do when they're beside the car they're overtaking and only then realise the person coming at them isn't paying attention? :) Conventional wisdom says to overtake when the other side is clear for as far as will be needed to perform the manoeuvre rather than to rely on people the other side "getting out of your way".

Flash your lights at them?! Its hardly an inconvenience for them to move over for a second.

I would have thought that proper procedure would be to move out, see if the oncoming car can be bothered to move over, then overtake.

I always find they overtake when I'm going through the cd collection on the seat beside me though, so if they thought I was going to move over they get a shock.
I don't run down drains in the gutter either.
Still I have a spare mirror glass in the glove locker as well.

I always thought that was an invite for a game of chicken.
I've always accepted and flashed back. (unless the family are with me)
