Hello everyone, We are back from Cornwall, we stayed in Port Isaac (where Doc Martin is filmed). I had a very fortuitous journey back on the train. My seat was double booked so I got upgraded to 1st class! John Sargeant sat behind us. DD2 and DS3 were very well behaved. I am totally converted to rail travel now and have looked into train fares for our half term trip to Potters. I got a F & F railcard as suggest by MSE and it's paid for itself already.

We went to a wedding yesterday which was a very good day but I was coming down with a cold which has more or less scuppered me for today.

I think we will take in the Countess of Warwick's Show tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

I have mountains of washing to get through and DH has been loading the WM today (wonders will never cease).

DSS turned up this morning with 20mins notice. It was good to see him his sister is coming next Sunday and he's threatening to come too for a roast. He eats more than all my boys put together (4) so i'll have to a whole sackfull of spuds (just for him) and use both ovens.

I've not read the thread this week as we had no signal. it was bliss for DH who is forever at the mercy of his work email.

    Spoons to those in need.

BB's on top form thanks. Out with DD over the park at the moment. She will chase the chickens though so they have to be segregated.

Nothing like 10 minutes notice to clean the house to get you going with the flying! scared0014.gifMoon called me this afternoon to tell me he was bringing a friend home for coffee - this wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been the parent of one of the girls in my last class, who had only ever met me in my clean and tidy classroom! So, I rushed around like a mad thing! I emptied and reloaded the DW, hoovered the whole of the downstairs as well as decluttering, cleaned down the kitchen worktops, hoovered all of the sofas, and just managed to put the hoover away before they turned up! Moon of course took him to every messy area in the house (upstairs and the garage). rolleye0010.gif

Since he's gone, I've done more tidying (this time deep-clean style) and told him when he called later that I'd cleaned up more since he'd gone, so hopefully he'd notice the difference if he comes over again. innocent0002.gif
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Rach - sad news about the stabbing didn't realise that's exactly where you used to live. Looks like it was a inside family job - so sad.
I lived above the shop on the end of the road, so not quite in the block but next door! Have a few friends further down Q road too.

Train travel is great, (says the woman paid to promote sustainable transport ;)) especially when it's not for commuting!
