Daughter fell off bike and scratched neighbours car parked in drive...

But why would you insist on being so unreasonable if they crashed into your car and not let chipsaway "fix" it?
I mean after all its just as good as a normal repair :rotfl:
The OP could well be covered here by their insurer;
If I was the neighbour and the OP tried to be a smart !!!! they may find themselves waking up to mysterious scratches in their car tomorrow.
What? Who crashed into my car?
If there was a tiny scratch on my car, I'd polish it out myself. I've no idea who Chipsaway is, I might google it later.
As far as I know, there's more chance of the colour matching the rest of the car if the scratch is polished out. If you re-spray the section it'll never look right when the light catches it because the swirls will be different. Any body shop guy can take one look at a car and tell you which panels have been replaced. They always spot my re-sprayed wing (previous owner caused!) and never the scratch on the door I polished out with the JML stuff in 5 minutes. Please note: I am NOT Martin Lewis, just somebody else called Martyn that likes money saving!0 -
Thank you so much for all the genuine replies.
I wont bother calling the CAB as I will pay but may take a few months. Hubby had 2 weeks holiday recently so this months payday will be dire.
Hubby only wants to pay £100 max. He has been and looked at marks and one is under the bumper so he thinks its impossible how it couldve got there. This one is about an inch long and the other about 1 1/2 inch.
I am obviously hoping she is willing to let these Chips Away people do it so I can pay this week and be done and dusted.
I would like to go really off topic too and say in the years I have been using these forums I have never been made to feel so worthless and rubbish!!
I know 100% I am a bloody good mum and I shall not explain my actions to anyone.:rotfl: Big Momma to 5 kids:rotfl:

I'd Take no notice.. It's only people from the Internet:D
Many many other parents would have happily denied all Knowledge and wouldnt even contemplate paying up to rectify the damage.;)0 -

Don't let it worry you, especially the rantings of Judas.
He is a serial troll, who has been PPRd under numerous previous user names. Laugh at him like most other people do.0 -
Putting the original problem aside, if anonymous people posting on an internet moneysaving forum are making you feel worthless and rubbish then I'd respectfully say you're putting far to much stock in the opinions of people you do not, and never will know.
You are soooo very true!
Too flipping soft really!:A:rotfl: Big Momma to 5 kids:rotfl:

Dear oh dear - how this thread has run away
A car is an object that gets you from A to B - not a precious jewel that requires pampering
Much worse damage can and is done if you go to a supermarket car park - had a passenger door stove in several years ago - no note - no effort to admit damage - it happens!
On a personal note many years ago we parked outside our London flat, by the time we came down to get the second load of bags a circular dent and rubber mark had appeared in the door - DH got out his kit and eased out the light dent, cleaned off the rubber mark and repolished the door
All the time he was working on it a little lad was cycling up and down the pavement; eventually stopped and said "I done that, mister" - DH said "OK, all fixed now, just be more careful in future" - lad nodded and then burst out with "Can you come a fix my Dad's car? - I bumped that as well"
We both fell about in gales of laughter - and no DH didn't fix the Dad's car - but he did help remove the dent!!!!0 -
