Some ..Vauxhalls not safe for Driving Tests.

A car with a broken handbrake being controlled by a qualified driver = safe.
A car with a broken handbrake being controlled by a learner, unqualified driver = unsafe.
An unattended car with a broken handbrake = unsafe.
This is why they insist that the corsas that may still have a problem with the handbrake must have dual controls so that a qualified driver can take control should the handbrake fail.
I would imagine that an unqualified driver on a driving test with nerves may panic when they apply the handbrake and the car starts rolling backwards down a hill. They may not even notice for a few seconds while changing gears and looking around.0 -
Inactive, this is hardly an important issue, do you have a specific problem with Vauxhall or do like being deliberately argumentative on an issue that has already been identified and dealt with.
Strange that nobody seemed bothered when Toyota was getting all of the flak, why is everybody so protective of Vauxhall?0 -
Inactive hates anything British/European.
Japanese or Korean only in his house.
It makes good reading though.
How do you define what is a British/European car?
Vauxhall is made by GM, an American owned company surely?
I have owned a British made Nissan, it was an excellent car, totally reliable ( pre Renault involvement ).0 -
To be fair, Vauxhall/Opel and Ford Europe are in many ways independent of their US parents. Very few of their US models are sold over here. In face these days the opposite is more likely to be the case, with Ford bringing over the Fiesta and previous generation Focus to sell to the growing number of Americans who are sick of poorly made gas guzzlers.
OTOH, GM are bringing over their ex-Daewoo cars to sell to that market, which doesn't seem to have gone down so well.0 -

Or even Japanese for that matter. Theyv'e all now been in the melting pot in this global village.
Face the facts the difference between the best made and worst made cars is so close that you can't separate by brand.;)
From my own experience and this is just family and friends cars, the worst I've come accross have been a BMW Z3 closely followed by a Z4, yes I know German badge on an yank car.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

You're right, I didn't mention you hate American as well.
tbh, I didn't think it mattered to you where it was actually made, so long as the badge was Japanese or Korean, from most of your previous posts.0 -

I don't " hate " any brand of car, or country of ownership, I choose to buy Japanese brands for their reliability and value for money, nothing wrong with that surely?
None of them has ever given me any problems whatsoever.0 -

But you have to accept that none of the others have for many other folks, or don't you??;);).
I hate yank cars too, largely because I'm none too fond of Yanks, full stop.:o:o:oI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

It is all about the law of averages 'bri, I honestly believe there is less chance of a Japanese branded car going wrong than a non Japanese brand.0
