OS Daily Thread for Saturday 21st August 2010

Evening,

Seemed to be really busy today but not sure what I have done! Had some paperwork to do to change banks and that took longer than I thought then did various other bits of paperwork. Did manage to get a load of washing dry but it is grim now! Went to the butcher and bought lamb shanks and then had to look up what to do with them. Had a panic when I was in there as I thought I was going to be sick, the smell gives me the boak. Saw lamb shanks and just asked for them so I could get out. However I cooked them (nearly followed a recipe) but found them quite fatty. Sauce was good but the three of us decided that we wouldn't have them again. Made two batches of Millies while the oven was on.

Got an e-mail from Tesco as they also now deliver here (used to be too rural for delivery) and got £10 off my shop, ordered a new slow cooker as the one we have is quite small and totally the wrong shape for anything other than sausages. Only paid about £12 for it so not too bad.

Going to relax with a film now - Laura hope you are feeling better, DD is now fine. Donny, hope the rest of the trip goes well. Lou, the welly story brings back happy memories!!

Hi All

It's been AGES since I've posted in the daily! Haven't got much to report. I've not been so well hence my sporadic appearance in OS. Apologies if i seem to attack the board like a whirlwind

OS wise today i'm not sure what I have done?! I was really behind with dishes so am now caught up on those and spent a fair amount of time preening my various plants and securing the tomato plants up the canes. :j I have two worse for wear bananas in my fruit bowl, which i have been meaning to make into banana bread so i think i am going to go do that now.

I had planned to go to the cinema tonight to see the Expendables, but it's bed and an early night instead :cool:

I spoke to Pink today who is back from her holiwells this morning so she should be back Board guiding in the next few days.

Right, the quest for a banana bread recipe beckons.:D

I am not-so-patiently awaiting my monthly visitor because quite frankly I am a grumpy cow and I swear i am busting for an argument, which isnt me. DH has just come home to say theres a works night out aranged for mid september. Now, I've lived here for over 5 years and never been out in the city centre as he proclaimed to not like going out drinking in the city. That was fine i'd had plenty of pub/club time before I moved here, but now it seems going out in the city will be just fine. hmmm. or should that be humpff?

I am totally cream crackered but DD has had a great 21st birthday, she loved her pressies and has £80 cash to spend on whatever she wants (I am pretty certain it will be a new phone because her LG cookie has developed some crazy faults such as phoning people on its own while it is in another room - It's Alive I tell you It's Alive aaaaaaargh)

We all went out tonight with DD's BF and his parents for a meal at a local Chinese restaurant and have only been home about half an hour, it was a smashing ending to a great day so I am now chilled after a few drinkies:rotfl::rotfl:

I am thankful that DS's 21st isn't for another five years - I might have recovered by then
