Well, the problem is that she appears to be able to justify it to herself and that's obviously the only person who matters.
She's just odious0 -
Her Radio5 Live phone-in talk about her tent story... it really needs to be fully transcribed.. as she admits to so much landlord ignorance throughout the whole 12 minutes she's on the air.
Doesn't do the entire situation the tenant has been put in, not fully show the landlord's complete ignorance, justice my quoting just these bits. It is still damning though.Suzy Butler: Second month came around and she hadn't paid me still. She was two months in arrears, and started mucking me around, wouldn't meet me.
Stephen Nolan: Did you go around and visit this lady (TENANT) at your house.
Suzy Butler: Many many times. And it got to the stage where she was actually locking me out, wouldn't let me in, wasn't turning up to meet me. It all got quite traumatic. And then erm, last week or I think the week before, we went around to meet her and there was a gas leak in the house (convenient if landlord wanted landlord entry to the house, with an emergency going on at the very time you've come around again to the property)..it's just been one hellish situation after the other. And then on Thursday I had to get a police escort to go into the house to retrieve a tent and a mattress because I had nowhere to stay over the weekend. And erm she wouldn't even let me in to get that so it just went from bad to worse very very quickly.
Then being sent scrap of paper saying contract ended 5 days after late with payment and that you have to leave in 5 days.
Landlord coming around with GMTV, who label you a squatter, and landlord ranting at you in your own home. "Went from bad to worse" for tenant Carmen Nobre - with landlord wanting tenant out so badly only after falling into arrears. The it became MY SPECIAL HOME - which the landlord is "not letting out as a business" but as a "private let", to "provide a better life for her son".Suzy Butler: I just find it really scary that you know - that somebody can actually lock you out of your house (you rented it out to a tenant @ £1,235 per month - it's their home, not still yours to enter as you please). And because I'd been away travelling and working in Peru I'd actually only had a few bags of belongings with me so everything I own was in my house. My granddad died in January very sadly and you know all my memories from him are in my attic, and my child's baby photographs and, all his toys and everything is in that house. So yeah.

We've got a landlord here who really thinks she's legally entitled to cream off £15 quid a day penalty fees from the tenant, adding the fee to what is owed for each day tenant is late with rent. The she's been around many many times to tenant's home about the rent.
Complained tenant began locking her out. Tells hows she finds it "scary" that tenant can lock her out the property. Admits to having gone to tenant's home with the police to pressure tenant to allow landlord in to collect items landlord has stored there. Happily admits to a policy of "people pressure" on tenant via media, TV broadcasts, Radio, press.. including at the tenant's home.
And.. nastily in my opinion.. given the circumstances where she was a terribly ignorant landlord....0 -

"One hellish situation after the other" FOR THE TENANT I'll bet... who was probably told £15 penalty fees were rapidly mounting up what Carmen Nobre owes Suzy Butler.

I am listening to that now completely coincidentally and you saved me writing what I thought about it. I went many many times, she didn't let me in, blah blah.
The woman is a total turnip. I've given her 10 minutes ... lol.
The radio 5 guy is actually very diplomatic.0 -
Isn't it worrying anyone else that Carmen hasn't said a Dickie bird?
Does no one else find this really odd?
I know that there are certain quarters who are non-believers like myself. It's all too staged for my liking and the links to Peru 'are very dark'. Serious

I think Carmen's silence is one of three things:
1) She is too intimidated, scared or uninformed of her rights to raise her head above the parapet.
2) Her upbringing tells her making a fuss is undignified and she feels humiliated and ashamed and would rather stay quiet and tow the line than risk further publicity.
3) She has done something, sought legal advice or whatever, and legal action is pending so she has to keep quiet.
Personally I wouldn't be doing anything to draw attention to myself after the hate-campaign Ms Butler whipped up but I might take myself quietly off to see a solicitor and no one would be any the wiser. I am also sure Ms Butler wouldn't mention on her page if she's being sued but I do detect a nervousness in both her and Jezza in the last few days - what happened to the web-chat for example? Very interesting.0 -
I think the fourth idea that she's been bought out is an option too
very sad if so.
I would agree with no 2
What's the surname again? ( not Carmen) J-clothKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

I don't think so Kittie, the Butlers are bullies not negotiators so they might threaten but I doubt they'd pay her off or even be made to believe they had any reason to. I think SB believes she is right and will do until the day she dies so no pay off, it's all about MAKING people do what you want with them.0 -
