they are both as good or as bad as each other , depending on whether your cup is half full or half empty, it can be just pot luck !
I regularly fly with both Ryanair - twice a week , sometimes more
    Easyjet - 8 times a year

Hahn airport was mentioned , it used to cost me up to about £250-£300 to fly to frankfurt with lufthansa , i can now get a return with ryanair for around £30-£40 , even by the time i factor in the cost of coach/car hire , i can still be up to £200 better off , which for a weekend away is a lot of money !

I think you just have to make the best of the cheap airlines, while you can

  • Just booked with Ryanair, paid £7 on line to check in one piece of luggage (£3.50 each way, £7.00 each way per piece of luggage if you don't pay in advance). I am only going away for a few days so considered taking hand luggage only, but was concerned that the restrictions may not have been lifted by the time I travel. Then, lo and behold, heard on the radio (couple of hours after I'd paid) that the hand baggage restrictions have been relaxed. Just my luck.

    DrFluffy,
Just to get this right in my head
Your friend wanted to go to Barcelona. So she deliberately, because shes not stupid and knew full well what she was doing and where she was going, booked flights to REUS knowing full well this was not Barcelona.
So shock horror:eek: she was "Dumped at some random airport called---- REUS" by ryanair.
    How awfull

She was being picked up - otherwise it is a hell to get out of - about 1.5 - 2 hours on a train to Barcelona IIRC...

  • I've flown many times with both. Touch wood, the only really bad experience I've had was when EasyJet cancelled our flight back from Geneva and then couldn't get us onto a plane back to the UK for another three days!

What I definitely prefer about Ryanair is their online check-in: not only can you skip the check-in queues but (when enforced properly by their staff) you get to board first along with the kids! Whereas with EasyJet, if you check in online you actually get the *lowest* priority and have to board last- doesn't make sense at all

I miss Go - they were defo the best of the budget airlines. REally hoped Sleasy would leave it be and keep the two brands separate, but it wasn't to be :(

I'll never book a SleazyJet flight, or buy any other "easy" product after being accused of card fraud by easyMobile.

    So Ryanair for me :)

I have used both airlines and I think they are similar. I have flown with Ryanair on numerous occasions and never had any problems and always found the staff to be extremely pleasant. Their prices are also excellent.

Ok you have to read their 'Rules and regulations' but they make no bones about paying for hold luggage etc and its easy to find out where the airport actually is by 'googling' it. In fact I think the information on their website is the clearest of all the airlines I have travelled with.
Incidentally I also got an excellent deal on car hire from Shannon by booking on the Ryanair website.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!
