Opened my front door this morning and two large heaps of dogsh**
over my front garden, disgusting you can smell it when you open the front door. Live in an cul de sac with access to river so many dog walkers passing, everytime I look out of my window I see a dog having a cr*p, I guess about 50% of the owners do actually pick it up. Opposite is a wooded area that many people use as a dog loo, last Saturday two little girls picking blackberries, one about 3 years old playing in grass with white trousers on, you can guess the rest.

My husband wanted a dog, I have seen and heard enough of other dogs since we have lived here to last a lifetime.

True, however in this case it was clearly from a DOG, I have no doubt cats poo, but generally the cat owners are not their to witness it. Maybe dog owners should invest in a Dog Litter Tray, or maybe cats n dogs should wear nappies.
So you only have to pick it up if you see it :rotfl:

I must admit there are a lot of people with dogs who must be looking in the other direction around here, it is especially annoying when you pick up after yours and someone else's dog takes a s!!! in front of your house.
But doing your gardening and ending up with your hand in a pile of cat mess is not much fun either.

I got home from work one day last week and there were three heaps of horse excrement left in the road right outside my house. I wasn't in the best of health at the time and the stench from said heaps almost made me vomit.

The thing is we live in a wholly residential street which is a loop so it doesn't go anywhere. I can't understand

    a) why anyone felt the need to bring a horse into the street in the first place and

    b) why the disgusting creature sat on the back of the horse believed it was acceptable to leave this excrement in the middle of a street in a residential area where families with young children live.

you could just scoop it up and chuck it on your flowers.. good manure that.

olden days people used to see the rag and bone man come down the street and if the horse did a poo they would be shouting get the shovel out.

I am a dog owner and always take bags out with me. I hate it when we walk past piles of other dogs pooh and have even picked it up in the past with my bags! HOWEVER please don't suggest spraying the dog with water or smearing it in sh*t that is extremely cruel. It is only doing what nature calls for. By all means do what you want to the be-atch that walked away from it though....she deserves all she gets.

My dad used to do that. Kept a shovel and bucket in the boot of his car. Was a joy going out for a drive in the countryside with him on a hot day.

    :rotfl::rotfl:

The wierd thing is that if i see horse poo on the road it never bothers me (horse stables down the road) because I spent hours as a kid helping the grandparents spread bags of horse poo around the garden and alottment. Dog poo however just makes my blood boil.

I now can't belive im having a conversation with people about which type of poo I find accteptable in the street :rotfl:

Given that the smell very nearly made me vomit it wouldn't have been a great idea to move it any closer to my house :(.

I totally agree with this. It's awful where I live, there's loads of carp around and it never gets picked up, just sits there and festers for months on end. You can't walk anywhere without studying the ground because it's all over the place.

I think I must be lucky with my cat... he only does his business in my garden in the soil, or in his tray if it's raining or he isn't taken outside in time. The only issue we ever had was he throwing his litter everywhere. My dad made the mistake of shouting at him so loudly he was terrified the next time he had to go, and did his business behind dad's lovely new TV. He learnt his lesson :D

Seriously though, not a good idea to 'discipline' pets with shouting or water when they're doing their business- just confuses them. Luckily my cat did calm down eventually, but it took him ages to use his tray again.

Do you know whats even worse than not picking it up??

Picking it up putting it in a bag and then throwing the bag on the floor.

Dog poo is full of germs, many which will make you very very ill.

I was out today, a dog, not on a lead, was allowed to come into a bakery shop I was in, no one did a thing about it!
The dog was smelling everything within reach, he went near a wall and was about do do something, before he owner said, come on!!

Some people clearly should not have a dog if they are not going to clean the mess up it makes afterwards
