We had this problem around christmas time. In the end we got that sick of it we put a camera up on the outside of the house for security purposes and put a note up on the gate basically saying that we have you on camera and that if you keep letting your dog mess on our front we will report it to the relevent authorities ect ect.

Everyone who walked passed stopped and read the letter needless to say we've not had a problem since.

Maybe try something like that? If you like I could forward you the letter so you can put it on your gate.

this happened to me- only the chap let his god actually poo on my front lawn ( it wasn't fenced off)
so I picked it up in a carrier bag and waited until he came back and leapt out of the door saying in such a sweet voice
" excuse me, I think you dropped this when you went past earlier"

so he takes the bag off me and says

" oh thank you so much"

I legged it inside and watched out of the window as he opened the bag to look inside and see what he dropped !!!!

he never let the dog do it there again !

Toddler infected by playground dog mess could go blind

dog-poo-baby-crop.jpgA toddler could lose one of her eyes after getting a rare infection from dog mess in a park playground.

Amiee Langdon, who turns two next week, put her hand down as she tumbled over, then wiped her left eye.

Aimee, who was playing in a gated children's area in Fallowfield, Manchester was diagnosed with a potentially deadly infection that could spread to her brain.

Hospital tests confirmed toxocariasis, an infection which is spread by dog dirt. It resulted in optical lobe cellulosis, which can lead to blindness and even death if not treated within 72 hours.

Amiee, whose eye has been almost closed by the swelling, is being treated with three antibiotics at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Her mum Suzanne, 29, a nurse recovering from treatment for womb cancer, has pleaded with dog owners to act more responsibly.

"Amiee's condition is the consequence of a thoughtless dog owner. How can I explain to a two-year-old that she will be unable to see out of one eye ever again? I just want to raise awareness and make people think about what their dogs leave behind.

"With cellulosis, if you don't spot it early it can lead to blindness within 72 hours and can also kill. The nurses said that there has been an increase recently in children being admitted with the symptoms."

Amiee got off a slide and was running towards the gate when she tripped and fell. Suzanne said: "She wiped her eye before I could get to her. I wiped her eye and face as fast as I could and then took her straight home to bathe her eye. It was just awful. There is a sign saying 'no dogs' near the entrance to the play area."

Amiee started to display flu-like symptoms the following day then awoke screaming in the early hours.

Suzanne said: "I turned the light in her bedroom on and her eye was completely swollen shut and purple. I took her straight to A&E. I told the doctors what happened and they took an eye swab and sent the cultures to the lab. They came out positive for cellulosis. Her eye is still very swollen and it seems to be getting worse. Her left cheek has also gone red.
She is on three lots of antibiotics, two orally and one straight into her eye.

"The doctors are hopeful that it will clear it. If it doesn't work then they will try another course. If they can't stop it spreading to her optic nerve and brain, they will remove her eye."
This was on the News this evening, personally I would have rubbed the dog owners nose in it!

There was a story on Bbc news Nth West at 6.30 tonight a young child had fallen off a slide in the park and put her hand in dog pooh then rubbed her face. She's lost her sight in one eye, they don't know if she'll get better.

I see i was just a bit late with this. Marleyboy has the full details.

Luckily I have not had this problem outside my house, thank god, but we do have a long path that cuts through the village, and the amount of dog poo on there and the surrounding grass is a disgrace, this path is always used by the majority of parents doing a school run, so you can imagine what some shoes look like. The council decided the path needed more poop bins so the path now has at least 5 along it, ok people do use them but come autumn when the leaves have fallen off the surrounding trees you should see the amount of poop bags hanging in them, it's an awful site, and how lazy are some dog owners who can't even be bothered to walk to the nearest bin about a foot away.
