Gigervamp, on the bbc good food website they have a recipe for lemon and almond cake which is fab - secret ingredient is mashed potato and it honestly is lovely, no-one guessed and it all mysteriously vanished so when I went to have a bit, I lifted up the cover and... it was ALL GONE!!!
btw have you tried local library for the book? Often they get them as soon as they're published and you can always order it if not. Obvious, I know, but if you're anyting like me, you only use about 3 recipes from each cookery book and hence each one costs about £5.0 -
I disagree with who got sent home tonight too
They had been consistently good in the other rounds should have been one of the other 2
Is it just me or are they starting to come across as quite smugLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -
Loved it again last night. I picked up a few hints and tips.
Totally disagree with the result. Jonathon has been consistent where others hadnt.
I looked at his recipe online

Couldnt really understand it, the recipe is fresh yeast but he says mix altogether???????Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Do they not take into account previous rounds as Jonathan whilst being weak at cake making was consistently the best last week. Does anyone else feel that some of the contestants are not very good and surely there must be lots better bakers out there, all the WI ladies for a start. Don't get me wrong soem of them do seem to know there stuff, but only a couple seem to consistently be quite good at everything.0

The book is on the book people for £7.99 if that helps anyone?0

Not caught up with last night's episode yet, but both previous weeks I've been wondering if the ovens being in a glorified tent may make a difference to how the bakes turn out for some of the contestants?
My mum always used to go on about having the back door closed when baking as the cakes could sink.
Is this the wrong place to admit that I'm a shameles Sue Perkins fan and will watch whatever she's presenting. But Perks and baking = heaven lol0 -

Some seem to be poor with the basics.
