Maybe you could get one then, just for Fridays?
Move the muffins please, I'm on a diet :eek:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Amazing... that's a bit like my Mum's old scooter. It would take me about 2 hours each way on a scooter... and in this weather..!?
Sorry... I'm on a diet too, but had to use up the banana's! Everything in moderation right?

Okay.. so apparently our utilities are £107 a month... Gas, Water and Electric...
I am shocked! I know the whole principle of, if you want to pay DD they'll get you to overpay pretty much until they do your next meter reading... but cripes!
£50 gas
£35 electric
£32 water and sewerage
There's just me, DOH and the kitty... we're both out most of the time and haven't had CH before so we know what it's like to freeze and can tolerate lower temps..
I was considering a U-switch moment, but based on the fact we have JUST moved in, and meter readings are running at somewhere like 00010 they have no idea what our actual usage is... so I fear we'd be in the same boat.
Sigh.. the joys of adult responsibility. Definitely time to cut back on the grocery shopping
I did create a little diary yesterday for myself, to monitor my daily eating, exercise, water drinking and spending habits. It's a simple table and I just note it all down in the appropriate column but I'm sure it'll help us keep a check on spend, and me reach my 1st 3lbs weight loss goal.
Off to fireworks tonight, so that's £10 entry for my and DOH and then a few beers for DOH. (I'm designated driver, after he worked his proverbial backside off and earned us just shy of £500 this week!) :TMFW 2010- £112,500 + 20% Equity Loan = £150,000 35 years

Well there you go LP.. I wasn't convinced... but that'll suit me if we end up a few £ in credit and can reduce our payments in the new year!

What a welcome to my final week at work- the rest of my team is decidedly absent. 1 on MAT, 1 off for god knows why and 1 who had booked this afternoon and tomorrow off to play new COD- but then text me to say he was sick this morning anyway. BLATENT SKIVE!
This weekend, OH and I decided to crack on with our garage utility space and found a suitable worktop. The rest of the weekend was spent trapsing around various places looking for 1 maybe 2 600mm wide knock off kitchen units. Did we suceed? Did we b*gger...:o
Apparently if you want a unit its going to cost around £40! I am not paying £40 for ONE kitchen unit!
On the upside, ish though, I did find a second hand, metal action 2 seater sofa bed, which with a bit of TLC would have been perfect for our spare room... but OH decided it was too minging and refused to consider that for £90 we had found a bargain.
I think I may have inspired the snob in him... and then I discovered MSE, and have left him on his perch, all uptight about the best in life and all that! :rotfl:
If we do eventually find, or manage to create a unit, then we can finally get our washing machine and sink put in the garage and OH's darling Mother can stop washing our dirty smalls. (That woman is a saint!)
Still so much to do, just to get settled down. Apparently next week they will be getting new contractors in to take the render off and re do it again. (This is highly frustrating given we live on a budding development and have seen several other houses rendered recently, all looking perfect...)
Then when they are finally done, we will have our garden... although it still wont be turfed, and we still don't have plants out front either. Once we have sole access to our garage again, we can commence putting all of OH's tools down there, freeing up the spare room which we will be turning into an office/workshop- with a sofa bed for the occassional guest. Found a good bit of wood and some legs, to build a 2m long desk/workbench... so am looking forward to having all that done.
It never ends
Final note- positive
- it is my birthday next Monday, and also my first day in new job. Bring it on! MFW 2010- £112,500 + 20% Equity Loan = £150,000 35 years

IKEA is your friend on this one. All kinds of cheap cupboards including kitchen ones are available at very good prices.0
