Thanks
I had a look at it in my project (it's on my blog site if you're interested) and reckon it's viable. Don't think it will ever make big bucks, but done with the right strategy and sense could pocket a little extra money.March 2013: £10
Presently: £3,7382.32 (All without a job)0 -
Hi all,
I'm brand new to these forums. I live in Nottingham and am just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for local police auctions and East Midlands Airport or Doncaster Airport lost property auctions.
Many thanks.0 -

Hi there. Where can I read your blog? It sounds interesting. Also, it is 3 thousand and something made so far with no job? How have you achieved this?0 -

From experience BA lost my daughters luggage and couldn’t be arsed to find it. Profiting from sending it for auction is a cop out. Contents should be destroyed.:(0

as a recent 'documentary' showed, the only stuff that ends up at the lost bag auction is what the scallywags havn''t already nicked, or is so worthless that it is of scrap value. Only the sad and stupid would buy at these places, and personally I hope the Revenue take the rest of their ill gotten gains from the other Del Boy get rich quick scams.0

For those asking about East Midlands auctions, try www.northgateauctionroomsnewark.co.uk - not sure about airport lost luggage, but they definitely hold railway lost property sales 5 or 6 times a year.
For London airport/buses/railway lost property try www.greasbys.com
Police auctions:
Kent - try www.parkinson-uk.com
Sussex - www.medlams.co.uk
West Midlands - www.biddleandwebb.co.uk (they also do lost property)
Finally - most of you probably know this one! www.bumblebeeauctions.co.uk - ten of the UK's police forces use this site.
Hope these help0 -
There is nothing of value in airline lost luggage. I'm amazed they have the cheek to auction it.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

For police auctions up in Scotland try:
Wilsons in Dalry (for people living around Glasgow/Ayr/Lanarkshire) - they do Lothian and well as Strathclyde police lost property. Lothian police sell through Wilsons six times a year.
Curr and Dewars (Dundee) for Tayside police lost property.
For people in the North East, try Thomas Millers, in Newcastle.
For south wales try Pontypridd auction, in RCT. And for the midlands, Northgate in Nottinghamshire.0 -
West midlands police use Astons, in Dudley, for their lost property. They only have their auctions once a month. Apparently they are worth going to.
For Leeds, the West Yorkshire police used to use The Bidders Auction Rooms in Guiseley. Not sure if i am out of date on this though.
For Worcestershire, try Arrow auctions. They are in Redditch. They are well worth a look, plus the auction is in the evening. But just be aware, they have a fairly steep 20% buyer's premium.0
