I can't help with the recipe, but you could ask them for a replacement manual while you're waiting...

Hi All
I wonder if any of you have one of these. I bought one the other day with a voucher I had.
Looking at the instructions the mix I have to make, is a sort of cake batter. I haven't tried it yet.
What I want to know is, if anyone has one can I make proper donut dough in the bread maker and use it in the donut machine.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Sorry I can't answer your question but I can tell you what we do with our (mini)doughnut maker. The mix in the instructions is probably like a thick sweetened pancake mix (flour, egg, sugar, oil), I miss out oil from the batter mix and I only use a couple of spritzes of frylight on the machine and they come out fine and much healthier than the traditional ones. The finished doughnuts just get a very light sprinkling of icing sugar and then ...oh sorry there is no then because they've mysteriously disappeared:D .I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

Thanks Troll
The kids have made them 3 times now and I still haven't had one. So very healthy for me. They say the batter mixture is fine and tastes nice. they made them with icing and sprinkles.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Just spotted this as I logged off
In my original breville leaflet I've got a yeast recipe for the doughnut maker will post it on here for you later.I have tried it out but actually prefer the batter one.The yeast one you have to leave to rise for a while and its a bit of a faff to get into the moulds on the machine as its stretchy.
Tastes almost the same..just a bit heavier *and costs more too*

Hi, I have just bought a donut maker (yellow simpsons one!) from the car boot, unfortunately it had no instructions. If someone has a suitable receipe/ instructions I would really appreciate it - I can't wait to use it!! Thanks a lot.0

Googled for you. Your question was asked by someone else re: the Simpsons recipe and I think this is from the leaflet:
Basic doughnut batter mix - makes about 18 (3 x batches of 6)
- 100g plain flour
- 60g sugar
- 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 a large beaten egg
- 85ml milk
- 25g melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Mix everything thoroughly into a smooth batter.
Let the doughnut maker heat up with the lid down until the ready light is on.
Open and spoon batter into each compartment to about 90% full and clip the lid closed.
Leave to cook for about 3 minutes, checking now and then.
Once cooked, remove the doughnuts with a non-metal implement to avoid scratching the non-stick surface.
Variations
Chocolate doughnuts: melt 4 large pieces of milk or plain chocolate and add it to the basic mix (can also use melted chocolate as a topping - yum!)
Cinnamon doughnuts: add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the basic mix
Apple doughnuts: add 1 large tablespoon of apple sauce to the basic mix
