I went to school as Pippi Long Stockings last year and Mrs Bear from Peace at Last the year before. One required stripy knee high socks and a skirt and the other PJs. Other teachers have turned up head to toe in green complete with face paint as the Very Hungry Catterpillar and we've even had an inflatable sumo suit as some rather odd japenese childrens book character.
Mostly the kids think its ace if you have fabulous face paint so Lola would be a doddle with giant freckles.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
It's down to Pippi Longstocking or Paddington Bear. I love both bu don't have a PB hat. I do have everything for Pippi Longstocking! I'm not sure what that says about me at my age!
Went to a friends for cup of tea after school. Went for a cheer up and to match her 3 boys to mine - bedlam! Made us both feel more normal! She talked some sense into me about last night's events. Anyway got gassing and realised it was quarter to 6! 45 minutes to feed the kids - argh! Thought out loud that we'd pick up chips on the way home before remembering the money situation. Kids went mad at me for mentioning it and not following through. Whoops! Had beans on cheese on toast which was genuinely really really tasty. Yum. One of my favourite comfort meals.Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Went to work and blagged the breastfeeding class. It wasn't great but it wasn't awful. And the course is now to all intents and purposes finished. So as soon as my new bank account details come through I can change my payment details and invoice them. My salary is promised for tomorrow and I'm desperate for anything not to go wrong. I've just read that last sentence back and realised it makes no sense whatsoever. I must be tired! I fell over at work today as well and now everything hurts. The bf is coming over later to look after me.I'm trying to cohere sentences but I'm struggling! Going to drop the boys off with their Dad and then maybe have a nice, hot bath.Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Hi Ruby
Hope your BF looked after you last night and you are feeling better today.
Hope your wages went in today, if it didn't I hope you gave them hell :rotfl:

Hot bath soothed away the aches and pains (along with a little drop of Pinot Grigio and paracetamol
). Had lovely dinner cooked for me and an early night. Had a fab day at work - my one to one made it through a whole day without a single Time Out!!! Whoop! Whoop! That's the first time ever!! Had a really chilled out day with him - loads of digging in the mud and lying on the grass looking at the trees.
So that was the good bit. Bad bit is that wages still haven't gone through. Our bursar is off work as she was pushed over by teenagers raiding the scooter shed a couple of days ago. My class teacher spoke to the head (bless her she had both me and our pregnant colleague in tears over different things!) who phoned up HR personally. Basically, they've paid it, i's at my bank and they tried to blag it by saying that internet banking was not reliable or up to date. Crap. I can pay money from one bank to another and see it on both screens within minutes. I'll speak to my bank, explain the situation and then put in an invoice for the charges on my account. And the most disappointing thing? Two months net pay? £621. That is the part time amount and I will have overtime to come plus an increase from 10 hours a week to 28 hours. But for now, I remain broke. Shame, because I was hoping for a sneaky trip to Ikea at the weekend to get shelving and desks for the boys room so I can finally get it sorted out. Budgeted at less than £100 and have tried freecycle and free ads first. Situation is getting critical!
*sigh* At least it is the weekend. I would like to get the house a bit straighter, one room at a time, bit of gardening depending on the weather and a lot of sleep!! And find all my hospital letters so I can sort my appointments out.Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Spent last night cleaning the kitchen to loud music with a glass of white wine in hand. Moved the rug from the front room to under the table - it's been bothering me for weeks and now looks lovely. Moved some stuff around so it all looks new and fresh and lovely again. Have some canvases to cover in lovely paper bought/gifted last weekend and some pictures to go up (will have to be very nice to the BF for this!). I need to move the guinea pigs back to the shed and have a tallboy that needs to come downstairs to be painted, papered and put in the kitchen. Some of these jobs are bigger than others. For now I will just continue my good work by trying to find the breakfast bar under all the rubbish that has been dumped on it! And then do the same for my desk. I don't want to put the kids through a weekend of cleaning and tidying but it is honestly disgusting in here.
The best way to organise the weekend would be to get the boys out early and then come home to chill/tidy etc but i can never summon up the enthusiasm or motivation early on. I just want to mooch around in my pj's thinking about stuff and drinking tea. Plus, the outside world seems to represent a pressing desire to spend. And I don't even have money to put petrol in the car. It's dry but cold here so need to think of something to do with the boys.
Will make another cup of tea, maybe write some lists and put my thinking cap on!!Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

It's getting there! Have cleaned, sorted and decluttered the boys room (DS1 has been left to his own devices - his is still disgusting!). Will get the shelves and desk this week if payday will allow. Need to sort something out as it is DS3's birthday in 2 weeks and we still haven't got anywhere to put the Christmas presents away!
Have decided that the only way to get the bedroom I want is to rip out the really quite spacious fitted cupboards so that the bed can go on the other wall and I can actually have a proper bed without it being pushed in the corner. My friend has a wardrobe she thinks she is getting rid of. I will lose a lot of storage which is a bit worrying but feel like a student at the moment!
It shouldn't take me long tomorrow to finish up the hoovering and tidying. Next job is the desk, then the cupboard under the stairs. Have a stack of paperwork to plough through - two categories, hospital appointments and banking. Then I can get stuck into some ebaying.
Went to see Molly today which was lovely. She looked happy and healthy and I'm so pleased that she has such a brilliant new family. She couldn't stop waggling her bum and ran herself ragged running between all of us!
We've had a lovely sunny day, got some fresh air in our lungs, given away a shedload of eggs to the neighbours, spruced and spivved, had a yummy roast and now, boys in bed and I'm having a little sit down on the sofa. Reckon it will be an early night tonight. Lets keep everything crossed for payday tomorrow!!Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Remember if the money is not in today then you can demand a CHAPS payment.
The above posts seem to indicate that you are getting things together and sorting through - i think it is always a good sign :j:T0 -
Good news, bad news, good news! Have been paid. Into the wrong account. Have managed to transfer it! Yippee. The council just reactivated my old pay details without updating my bank account so it went into my Nationwide account which I have declared as a bad debt and made an offer on. Luckily, they haven't stopped the account and after 3 attempts (stupid computer!) have managed to transfer my salary into my Halifax account so that I can now pay my bills, order birthday presents and do my shopping. Hoorah!
Got myself ready for work this morning and DS3 was telling me he wasn't well. I did that working Mum thing of panicking and telling him he'd be fine and just to see how he felt when he got in. But I got him to the gate and just thought, no this isn't fair, you're not well. We were both up all night with his coughing and he hasn't stopped since he woke up. I think it's asthma but his meds don't seem to be having much effect. Let work know I was going back home then popped to friend's for a cup of tea. She has said she can have him tomorrow (her DS1 is off with migraine to - we're a right pair!). So, I have an extra sunny day to keep up the good work. To do list for today:
Hoover house.
Vax downstairs.
Get at least 3 loads of washing on line.
Put dry laundry away.
Find hospital letters and book appts.
Call SKY and cancel
Meal plan and shopping list.
Call BT for new internet package.
Pay bounced bills.
Phew! Good job I baked cookies yesterday. Gonna need to keep my strength upCommercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73
