UNPAID DD!! Stupid TV licence!! They usually text to tell me they're about to take the direct debit out and they never
They are getting a piece of my mind tomorrow!! So that's a £12 charge from NW AND I over spent at lunch, only by £5 mind - I forgot to budget for Toddles, who could eat all day and wouldn't have been impressed with sharing my lunch.
I am honestly furious about this tonight, I'd just finished online shopping, smugging about how I'd out smarted Mr Tesco by dropping a brand, thought I'd check banking while I was on and TADA! There it was, £37.whatever pence, Unpaid DD, mocking me and my attempts at money saving.
I really thought I had this month covered, I can't believe I overlooked/forgot about it.
Am I right in thinking that DD are claimed twice? There will be money in there tomorrow for it.
(and the TV was rubbish tonight. Sky is going as soon as the contract is up)
Not so Happy Thursday NightI'll get there!0 -
Do you have an overdraft on your bills account? I have always made sure I have an overdraft on the account with all my direct debits as I have my salary paid in elsewhere - if I got hit by a bus there would be no way for my money to be transferred over. Even £100 would stop that happening again if you were a little short.
Don't feel rage, it's a wee setback - and it's the weekend0 -
Thanks F_F. We do have an overdraft, but we were at the limit
Feeling a bit better today about it, I shouldn't have counted on them texting, another lesson learnt!
Positive notes:
£100 PAD to CC2
I'm going to pay the remainer over the rest of the month, I think there's about £67 left. Glad I sold those bonds now
More happiness, done our 'big shop' online this morning. This is usually when I buy nappies for the month, MrP's tobacco, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, meat for the freezer, a million tins of tomatoes, ect. It recently it comes in at around £120, and the remained of the shopping budget gets used for little weekly shops throughout the month.
WELL! I got all my usual stuff (minus the biscuits and junk food) for £88.16, including delivery! And it's not even cheapest of the cheap stuff I bought.
Pay day!xI'll get there!0 -
Hi MrsNAP
Just read all through your thread on a slow day in the office. What an excellent start you have made! Don't worry about small setbacks at first - treat them as a learning curve from the universe - bet you don't make that mistake again.
I must admit since lurking on this forum and following all the excellent MSE advice I have to agree that the habit does spill over and changes other areas of life like cooking/cleaning (instead of watching TV) etc - definitely energises the parts other forums do not reach.
Love your determination and of course with another littlie on the way you have lots of motivation, keep up the good work, will send positive vibes your way!

....a NSD virgin :j My first one today, it was tough! I managed to avoid the bacon snacks I wanted so badly at the shop and the bottle of cola
I might actually put the £2 odds away in a pot somewhere.
On tonights agenda, eBay, eBay, eBay! Looked out a ton of stuff, necklaces from boyfriends past, ugly gifts (:o), a gorgeous pashmina I bough to go to a wedding yonks ago, a load of shoes and clothes with tags still on, DVD's, you name it and I'll have it in my eBay box!
I decided today, that once the remainder of CC2 is gone (£66.86) this month, I'm going to give myself the target of getting the remaining credit card below £2k for Christmas. It'll be around £560 that I'll need to pay off it.
MrP is really surprising me in his efforts to moneysave. He's donated his ipod nano that he's only had for a few months to the eBay box and said to me 'After this is paid off, I never want to buy anything on a credit card again, in furture we save!' He even has a spreadsheet stuck to the side of the fridge, I am very proud of him!
I transfered £23.06 from paypal today, so as soon as that hits the account, it's straight to CC2.
I think I might venture out of my own diary and into some other members, see how everyone else is doing it!
That's my ramble over!
Happy Saturday!xxI'll get there!0 -

Now they're for laundry and money saving!
Not much to report this morning. £3 pad to CC2, leaving £63.89 - happy days! I worked out I need to pad £2.66 to clear it by the 30th, seems do able when it's broken down like that.
Last nights eBaying went ok, didn't actually list the items - I'm waiting on free listing, do they do this every month? I did take all the photo's and measurements, so that'll save time later :T
Hoping today will be another NSD, Toddles has a birthday party this afternoon so free entertainment for him.
That's all! Hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday!xI'll get there!0 -

Just had a little read of your diary.
You sound very motivated. I am having the same problem as ou had trying to achieve an NSD. I seem to have spends occurring every day.
