Thanks everyone! Still over the moon about yesterdays 'victory'
I did manage to cancel it (in true moneysaving fashion, I used my Mum's landline to call the 0845 number - she gets them free) they unsurprisingly DIDN'T try to keep me as a customer on this occasion:rotfl:
Total PAD's to CC2 in September: £174.32. Which considering our monthly surplus, is pretty good going.
We did have a slight wobble yesterday and ordered takeawayBUT instead of getting tonnes of rubbish, we went for the cheapest option and only came to £15, still alot and I've been thinking about that money all night!
Ok, so next battle is the remaining credit card. It does have a lower interest rate than the larger overdraft (with is actually £50 more than I though) BUT because MrP gets paid at the start of the month and DD's don't come out until the end, we don't actually get charged that much for being in it and I'd feel better if the CC was gone first!
I'm guesstimating, the balance is around £2,550 - I'll double check later. AI think I said earlier on that I'd like to have the CC debt down below £2k for Christmas. I was doing some 'number crunching' based on this last night - while MrP was watching Twilight(it was dire) Here's what I've come up with:
PAY £600 OF CREDIT CARD BEFORE SANTA VISITS
Start Date: 14th September
End Date: 14th December
Minimum payments are £80(x4) = £320
Leaves £280 to be raised
Which I've broken down to approx(based on 4 weekly pay days):
£70 extra per month
or
£17.50 per week
or
£2.50 per day
I did make half an attempt to work out interest and what not, but I was getting a bit overwhelmed, so I'm just aming to pay £600 off and ignoring the interest!
Looks pretty managable! So todays pad of £1.40, makes the remaining 'balance' £598.60.
I had 18 items listed on eBay, 2 ended yesterday and despite having 3 watchers on each, none of them soldThey'll get one more chance the next time there's free lisitng and then I'll be car booting them! Not getting disheartened yet though, because some of the other items are being watched and have a few days left on them.
I think that's me for today!
Happy TuesdayI'll get there!0 -
Morning!
Ok, so I called CC to see what the balance was £2507.58, so less than I thought which cheered me up. However, the 16.9% I'm paying on it does not bring any cheer at all!
I made a pad of £5.88 this morning, bringing my challenge balance down to £592.78. I'm enjoying keeping track of it like this
Two of my current eBay items have bids, with a few days left as well, so I'm happy about that.
I think that's it. Oh and I'm actually in CREDIT to CC2, by 11p! I'll be looking for that refunded! :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a nice day!xI'll get there!0 -
Happy Friday!
Been a busy few days! We had our 20 week scan and managed not to find out the sex, I like a surpriseBeen house hunting - which means all my debt repayments (the overpayments) will be on hold until we raise a deposit (couple of months rent as least)
eBay seems to have picked up for me though! I've made £69 tonight :j I'll be padding that into a savings account. In fact, would I be better paying it into the credit card and then using the credit card to pay deposits? If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!!
I also started doing competitions and so far won: A CUSHELLE KOALA! I'm over the moon, never won anything before!
Remaing amount to pay to my £600 before Santa comes (this isn't on hold!) £590.67
Other than that little lot, not much else has been happening.
Happy Friday night.xx
Other than that little lot, not much to report.I'll get there!0 -
Hello Diary!
Not much to update really. Been busy getting ready for the move, hopwfully be in by November. BabyPenny is getting big and kicking loads, which is lovely. Internet time has again been replaced with naps!
Still using PAD method, working well :j eBay total sales over £100 now, damn eBay fees taking £11 though!! I still have lots of goodies to list, when the free listing comes around again.
Debtbusting motivation isn't quite as strong now there's only big debts to paybut I'm managing to reason with myself on the wobbly days - mostly, or at least limiting the damage!
I just need someone to tell me that spending £80 on a private scan for BabyPenny could be spent on better things! (my 20 week one was ok, picture poor and the sonographer a misery, kinda ruined my experience, being my last baby I really wanted to enjoy it. I know that Baby being healthy is what is only real reason for the scans, but I would have liked a bit more involvement!)
Anyhooo, it's bedtime for me!xI'll get there!0 -
I will tell you £80 could very very well be spent better on other things.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Also, I know it's nice to see it on screen and all, but let's be fair - at this stage it looks like a bean and could be anyone's! I have yet to see a scan picture that looks different to anyone else's.
If you want to spend eighty pounds on something, why not a professional session of photos with you, Mr Penny, Toodles and Bean? That will be a lovely thing to have in the future...especially as I know that people tend to take less pics of second children as they're so tired! It'll be nice for you to be pampered as a family too.
Or you can send me eighty pounds and I'll draw you a kidney bean0 -
