Just a note to add that the kebab meat freezes & reheats very well. I am travelling in france at the moment, and used 12v slow cooker to heat it through - I add a few tablespoons water to make sure it stayed moist.

that's great to know as hubby hates donner but I love it!
  • So far I have done kebabs, sausage muffin and bigmac all have turned out tasting like the real thing :j Will save a fortune as we have 3 boys!
  • I don't have "the works" near me but if anyone who is near one that can get me a copy I would be happy to pay the postage. I would be really greatful.

I always make 2 donners at a time, one to eat and one to freeze, let it cool then slice and freeze it in portion sizes. Whenever anyone fancies a kebab I just lift a portion out and reheat it in the microwave in a pyrex bowl with the lid on so it doesn't dry out. I always keep a pack of pittas in the freezer too, in the time it takes for the meat to reheat and the pitta to toast I've sliced up some salad. Cheaper and quicker than going to the kebab shop.

If you like curry as it comes from an indian takeaway, you will like the recipes in this book. The Dal and naan recipes work really well too. If you only eat indian takeaway you might be better off with The Curry Secret (can't vouch for recipes, only downloaded it tonight).
