I made the cheesecake posted above last night. Using up the last of a packet of dark chocolate digestives that were at the back of the cupboard, a tub of cream cheese that I didn't use for a cake last month, half a jar of dark choc spread I'd forgotten I'd bought (probably nearly a year ago
) and the last of some chocolate sprinkles left over from my nephew's birthday cake last year. Made it in a 9" tin so it's very thin but it's also VERY rich, so I think that's a good thing! Will do pudding for at least a week, two if DH doesn't like it.

They are weak?
I have ordered the Argos food slicer, the Acer Aspire Netbook and the 22" TV combo from Tesco! (See the Grabbit board).
Good old ebay sales have paid for that lot. I knew there was a good reason for getting rid of odds and sods.0 -
blue_monkey wrote: »Sorry just to add, the metal blade does come off, it twists on and off and then locks in place, if it is not locked the slicer will not work, but the bit that allows the slices to get thick or thinner (see the technical know how, LOL), well the food gets stuck in there and it's a pain to get out. As I say though, just let the food dry, brush out the bigger bits with an old toothbrush and wash out the smaller bits that are left with a sponge full of water. The first time seems like a faff but after that it's just a minute or so.
We have one of these and I "modified" it so that the thickness plate is completely removable now.
If you turn the knob so that the plate comes out as far as it will go and then pull hard on the plate and use brute force to keep turning the knob. It will eventually pop off.
There is a small plastic tab on the screw that breaks off the first time you remove it.
Then you can completely remove the plate for cleaning and screw it back on for cutting. (its only hard to get off the first time then it just unscrews anytime you want)
Be prepared to feel ill when you see how much scummy food is trapped behind there.._pale_“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

LOL, know what you mean. I bought the netbooks for the kids as well. Mind you, those and the book are the first thing I have bought for ages so think I am quite good.
As for that stuff for eBay, I have piles, and piles of stuff I need to get listed but I never have time because I am too busy on here.... :rotfl:0 -
I made the doner kebab tonight and dh said it tasted exactly like takeaway, so easy to make too which is just as well for me :rotfl:

Well, I reserved the last Stainless Steel Slicer in our Argos and went to collect it today.
The girl on the till said it may be replaced by a similar model so I asked to view it before I paid.
I told the woman at the collection point that it was a stainless steel one and when she opened it she said that isn't stainless steel it's plastic.
Hence I didn't buy it as I didn't want to buy an inferior model.
But....... after coming home and checking online that may have been the right one as she didn't open up the slicer to look inside it.
Can anyone who has that Cookworks model tell me, is it gray plastic when folded up?
I have reserved it again as it is has gone back online so I may go again tomorrow if it is the right one.

sb44, the housing and hand guard etc on that looks like plastic to me, but the blades and sides (with the lines on) look metal so it may well be the proper one.
I doubt you would get one made completely of metal for £25, even £50 come to that.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
