IceIceBaby - I didn't have a 16 week MW appointment. In some areas they miss this one out.
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.

I have a list of appointments, after 12 week, I had one at 16 weeks only for bloods - nothing else was done, we don't get our notes until 20 weeks when our next appointment is. Then 24 weeks is the next one.

Ah, thats similar to me then except for they gave me my notes at my 12 week scan.

You would think they would standardise it lol
    Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j

Cheers hun - think its finally started slowing down and going more brown so all good :)

Also I know you mentioned previously that you didn't mind being induced (think it was you ). When the pessaries are inserted and you have to wait 6hrs, are you in any pain?? The midwife mentioned I'll most probably need 3 and I'm thinking 18hrs of boredom so I'll take my laptop in and watch some movies, and the blokes I work with laughed at me as they seem to think I'll be in lots of pain

Cat, that's a classic photo!! lol...

Ice, did you have a nuchal scan? Our 16w appointment is primarily for the quadruple test... It might be that is missed out for you if you had the nuchal and associated bloods?

Lilian, this is my 3rd and I had a 25w appointment today?

It really does vary from place to place...

Oh sorry, I hadn't realised - everything i've seen said that 25 week was for first babies only but I guess you're right as I've just seen another website that doesn't mention the first baby thing :) Sorry for any confusion ice! x

When I had my baby last year it took me weeks to go over to the Parent Thread, which considering she was No.6 I could have posted on anyway, but I was way to comfortable here. :o Silly thing was I reckon I could have got more pregnancy advice if I'd been over there too as if I'd really used my brain they had all recently had babies, derrrr! :p

This is a very confusing article about Vitamin A given all we've been told about not taking it!

    http://www.babycenter.com/204_benefits-of-prenatal-vitamin-a-last-a-decade_10331690.bc

Am assuming the fact that the mothers were malnourished is the important thing here and that we all have enough vitamin A and too much is what's dangerous?
Vitamin A deficiency is common in devolping countries but rare in developed countries. Retinol (which comes from animal sources e.g. liver) is actual vitamin A and it is this that can be dangerous if you have excessive amounts but beta-carotene (which comes from plant sources can be converted into vitamin A by your body if you need it. Since you only convert it if you need it, beta carotene does not pose a risk if you have large amounts. Roughly an inch of carrot gives you your daily allowance. The USDA tolerable upper limit intake for pregnant women is 3000mg (equivalent of 12000IU) - my intake over two weeks of analysis (including eating pate sandwiches for some luches) was 7996IU which is three times the UK minimum RDA but well below the upper limit so I doubt it is something the average person here needs to worry about.
